When blue 22 T-bird came out, I knew it was a winner.
There was one incredibly confusing aspect to the DD though and I throw this out there in the hope that some American can explain it to me...
The $1500 prize was given to the winner of the first two heats in which only men competed. Then there was one single round called the Powder Puff round in which only women competed. For no apparent prize. What on earth was going on? Surely this isn't as patronising as it sounds?
I took videos of all the heats. The "powder puff" was the best.
This Tropical shrub has the common name, powder puff, and scientific name, Calliandra (which means "beautiful stamens"); both are appropriate as the flowers have densely packed, silky pink or white stamens that look like powder puffs.
This particular variety of calliandra, the schultzii , is unique for its striking blooms that are both white and pink. This one flowers throughout the year. The leaves close at night. The powder puff flowers are attractive to butterflies. There were a number of these shrubs in the hotel grounds where we were based when on holiday in The Gambia.
