P3: Andersonville Thirst (Aperture Mode: edited by cropping and auto smart fix)
This photograph was taken at the Andersonville POW Historic Site. I have waited 15 years to visit this site and this class inspired me to finally make the trip. This is one of the most touching memorials on site. It depicts a prisoner of war longing for a drink of water from the one and only small stream that runs through the camp that housed more than 45,000 POWs in 1864-65. I love how the sun reflects on it to show the imperfections of this prisoner.

These were taken at a pow wow in park on Dufferin St. in Toronto last year. I am pleased to see that the North American native peoples are reclaiming their proud heritage. It was shameful the way the Europeans practiced genocide and heritage eradication against these people.

Florida’s POW/MIA Remembrance Ride is sponsored by the American Legion Riders Department of Florida. Police escorted motorcycle ride from Adamec Harley Davidson, over the Seven Bridges, crossing the St. Johns River, and ending at the National POW/MIA Memorial for a POW/MIA Ceremony. This POW/MIA Recognition Day event is in honor of those service members who were held captive and returned, and those who never came home.
