Saturday was spent on a trip with my sister Laurie and sister-in-law Joyce to the 113th annual Pow Wow held in Arlee, Montana. The Pow Wow Grounds was filled with venders from all over the country selling everything from fry bread to silver and turquoise jewelry to hand beaded goods and much, much more. The activities included Competition Dancing, stick games and Drumming. It was a very colorful event and well worth the trip. This is just a sample of the views from the event.
Thank you for viewing. Now I need to catch up with all of your wonderful images that I missed Saturday.

Been digging some old stuff from the harddrives, I never uploaded any of them because I never liked them at the time. Coming back to look at them a few years later and they have grown on me.
A prisoner of war camp where polish were held in WW2. I shot this with the intention that this would be a view that one of the prisoners may have had, lying in their prison bed and looking out of the window dreaming of home. These places bring up all sorts of inspiration for photos such as this.
Enjoy

i don't love yellow, but I will admit that it is cheerful, and the world would be a pretty dull place without it!
I spotted this beauty in Honors Park the other day and enhanced it to give the photo the impact that these wow factor flowers have in a garden.

My first experience going to the annual Chumash Pow wow. It was a great day of tradition and joyous celebration.

I wonder what Mr. Longerbeam felt on this day seventy-five years ago today? I can only image the relief, the joy, the elation that must have gone through his mind and the minds of his fellow prisoners held in camps throughout Germany. Victory. Freedom. Return to home. What could that have been like? The 376th HBG was the first American airforce unit of its size formed in Great Britain and served longest at a single base of all the US Air Corps units in the European Theatre. Flying out of Thurleigh in Bedfordshire, the Group - as a part of the American 8th Airforce - flew missions against the enemy from 1942-1945. Durning the campaign against the Axis, the 8th Airforce alone sufferd mor casualties than the entire US Marine Corps did in fighting in the P:acific. Durning one of those dangerous missions, Mr. Longerbeam's B-17 was shot down over Europe. The terror of being shot out of the sky, struggling to parachute from a damaged aircraft, landing in a hostile country and then, being captured by the enemy... it is unimaginable to me. And yet, today, seventy-five years later, I try to imagine. If I cannot, it is because men like L.C. Longerbeam had to undergo this ordeal to free Europe from facism and to leave to me and us all, a world better and safer for his sacrifices. Thank you. You remain my heroes... on this 75th anniversary of victory in Europe as always.
