In order to be able to use "normal" selenium toners (which contain Ammonium salts and/or Thiosulfate) for Lobotypes and Kallitypes without the usual fading and yellowing of tones, the print should be bleached (potassium ferricyanide and bromide) and redeveloped in any developer for gelatine silver prints.
The toning target was a split tone with subtle reddish shadows and bluish highlights.

Taraxacum is the name of this common and humble weed called the dandelion that people try to eliminate from grass and garden.
did you know that besides making wishes on the dandelion puff, urinating on it's leaves was an old pregnancy test. If the leaf turned red you were pregnant.
Italians and other Europeans harvest the leaves for salad. The young leaves are tender and less bitter and are filled with iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and several vitamins.
The root can be made into a tea which benefits the liver, high cholesterol and inflammation It contains powerful antioxidents.
Think about that before you contemptuously pull them out of your orderly yards and gardens.

Pomegranates are also a great source of folate and other B-vitamins as well as vitamins C, E, and K. (Unfortunately, the process of pasteurizing pomegranate juice destroys the vitamin C content.) They also contain the minerals potassium, phosphorus and magnesium. These fruits even have a bit of protein and iron.

Lyons Creek was also the location of the New York Silicate Company site (Patuxent River Mining Site
CT-79) where diatomaceous earth and glauconitic sand were mined during the 1880s until the 1960s.
Diatomaceous earth, also called diatomite, is composed of siliceous skeletons of one-celled plants called
diatoms, and was first mined in Calvert County in 1822. Diatomite was used as a filtering agent,
absorbent, insulation, and a polishing powder. William Weed, a New Yorker who made his home in
nearby Rose Hill, Calvert County, was the first to discover its value in the refining of sugar in the 1880s.
Glauconitic sand, a potassium iron aluminosilicate, also called green sand, was used as a fertilizer. In
1907, mines from this area made Maryland the leading producer of diatomaceous earth in the United
States. The mines were located along the Patuxent River between Lyons Creek and Halls Creek. The
New York Silicate Company and later the Maryland Silica Company were among the first to work the
area in the late 19th century. In 1908 it was reported "considerable freight is shipped" from the "silica
mines" at "Lyons Creek Landing."99 A chunk of cement, awash along the shoreline just inside the pilings,
is probably related to one of the former silica mine buildings which were located at this site.

The history of the currant is comparatively young, the plant has only been known since the Middle Ages. The shrubs owe their name to John the Baptist. Because their fruits ripen around his memorial day, St. John's Day, on June 24th. The nuns and monks used them against gout and rheumatism as well as against scurvy.
Red currants are small vitamin bombs. They contain a number of vitamins in high concentrations, promote health through their high content of vitamins C, A, B, E and K as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, potassium and copper. They strengthen the immune system, improve skin, hair and eyes and can help with colds or vein problems.
But of course jams and jellies or cakes with currants are also delicious,

The Mexican Sunflower is native to Mexico and Central America but has a nearly pantropical distribution as an introduced species. Depending on the area they may be either annual or perennial. It has shown great potential in raising the soil fertility in soils depleted in nutrients.
Research has shown its potential in benefiting poor African farmers. This plant is a weed that grows quickly and has become an option as an affordable alternative to expensive synthetic fertilizers. It has shown to increase plant yields and the soil nutrients of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). (Wikipedia)

Eleutherococcus senticosus is a species of small, woody shrub in the family Araliaceae native to Northeastern Asia. It may be colloquially called devil's bush, Siberian ginseng, eleuthero, ciwujia, Devil's shrub, shigoka, touch-me-not, wild pepper, or kan jang. Eleutherococcus senticosus has a history of use in traditional Chinese medicine. Root extracts of this plant are sold as a dietary supplement or cosmetic, usually under the name Siberian ginseng.
The derived extract from the roots has been characterized for its major constituents, including lignans, sesamin, syringaresinol, phenylpropanes, coumarins, beta-sitosterol and daucosterol.
Berries from E. senticosus contain diverse polyphenols, including caffeic acid, vanillic acid, ferulic acid, p-coumaric acid, and benzoic acid, with significant content of calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

A couple years ago I read something about one of Crawley's FX series developers, suggesting he'd come up with an excellent developer for the "tabular/Core Shell" types films: FX-37
Its a Phenidone/Hydroquinone type developer, that incorporates Potassium bromide and some Benzotriazole, with Borax as the buffer.
I had trouble finding good development times when using FX-37, so I dropped it entirely. Most recommended development times you'll see will give you seriously overdeveloped negs. But out of curiosity, I made up a fresh liter of it and decided to expose a roll of Delta 400 and bracket exposures, then develop it in FX-37 for a much shorter time (6 minutes instead of 8) and see what I got.
The best frames were the ones that got a full stop more exposure than "box speed", and the brightest highlights were sufficiently restrained to be usable. And so, I am going to continue to experiment with this developer and see how it plays out.
In this case, I think the results are quite pleasing. I've never been disappointed with Delta 400. I'll take this film any day, over pretty much anything else - including Tmax 400 (which is now too expensive for my budget).
To explore the limits of resolution with digital negatives:
#2 High resolution: I don´t like working with all these High Resolution Films, but some years ago I tested the Rollei ATP 35mm in combination with a „homebrewed“ developer. At that time I made a lith print about 36x36cm, larger silver gelatin prints would be possible. Last week I tried it with a negative scan (Epson 4870). Cropped negative 3,4x3,25cm (900ppi), enlarged to 30x29cm (600dpi) on Pictorico OHP and printed as a Kallitype onto Hahnemühle Platinum Rag. Looks not bad, but even larger seems to be not possible without a loss of quality, at least not with my possibilities.

The common mallow is part of the large family of Malvaceae plants that include cotton, okra and hibiscus. It is an edible plant that has been used for medicinal care as well as food. The fruits are round and have cheese-like wedges which give the common mallow its nickname, cheese plant. Mallow stems are flexible and come from a central point, often lounging on the ground. This wild edible is used as herbal medicine in a variety of ways. It is an anti-inflammatory, diuretic, demulcent, emollient, laxative and an expectorant.
Distinguishing Features
Common mallow is a winter or summer annual or biennial, freely branching at the base, with a prostrate growth habit. It is a low growing weed, with a deep fleshy tap root. The seeds germinate through the summer and broken stems can also root. This plant has stems that originate from a deep tap root and are low spreading with branches that reach from a few centimetres to almost 60 centimetres long.
Common Mallow
Flowers
The flowers are borne either singly or in clusters in the leaf axils blooming from June to late autumn. They have 5 petals and are white, pinkish or lilac flowers that measure on average, 1 to 1.5 cm across.
Leaves
Common mallow leaves are alternate, on long petioles, circular to kidney-shaped, toothed and shallowly 5-9 lobed, 2-6 cm wide. Short hairs present on upper and lower leaf surfaces, margins and petioles.
Height
This plant can grow anywhere from 10 to 60 cm in length.
Habitat
The common mallow likes to grow in lawns, gardens, roadsides, waste areas and cropland. It originated in Europe, Asia, and Northern Africa and is also in the Americas and Australia.
Edible Parts
All parts of this plant are edible. The leaves can be added to a salad, the fruit can be a substitute for capers and the flowers can be tossed into a salad. When cooked, the leaves create a mucus very similar to okra and can be used as a thickener to soups and stews. The flavour of the leaves is mild. Dried leaves can be used for tea. Mallow roots release a thick mucus when boiled in water. The thick liquid that is created can be beaten to make a meringue-like substitute for egg whites. Common mallow leaves are rich in vitamins A and C as well as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and selenium.
