I could take pictures of the moon every night and not get bored.

I am getting a little frustrated with my 200mm telephoto and its piddly range, though. This photo has been cropped down as far as I could take it. Maybe someone wants to get me a 600mm and a telescope attachment (plus the telescope) for Xmas?

I need a new subject.

Brand new finger post on Dartmoor at Hemsworthy (White) Gate replacing the broken post. The arm for Ashburton has been salvaged from the original sign the rest it seems is replacement.

The two will step backwards and raise heads, almost seeming to be recovering from the shock of the hit, noses pointing together, almost in a ceremonious fashion.

The rut clashes are fascinating, and certainly ritualistic. Head bashing does not occur constantly (male bighorn would be worn down and unable to mate if this were the case), and the fight is almost never to the finish. The ritualism is to establish the largest curl and to determine the dominant animal who will perform the mating of the band.

There were quite a few Jackdaws flying both over and under this bridge, set in Meldon Woods, Oakehampton. I was trying to find some interesting angles to photograph the bridge, when this little chap popped into shot and completed the picture.
