A woman wearing a sun hat and carrying a patterned bag stands on the concrete porch of a post office. She pauses near the blue mail slot while holding her phone. The open doorway reveals a simple interior, and a car is parked just to the side of the building.

Since their founding in 1895, post exchanges -- and later base exchanges -- operated their own cafeterias, soda fountains, snack bars and other eating establishments well in the 1970s.
As the craze for name-brand restaurants reached a fever pitch, Baskin-Robbins became the first well-known restaurant to join the AAFES family when the company opened an ice cream shop at California's Edwards AFB.
In 1984, Burger King became the first name-brand fast-food restaurant company to join the AAFES family, followed soon by most of its competitors.
The customer demand for name-brand restaurants relegated the cafeterias, soda fountains and snack bars to just fond memories.

Get this idea from the 'explore' and try it for myself. Anyway Doc told us last Sat that it's going to be a princess!
On the old Post Office railway under London. It used to link various London mail sorting offices and the trains used to be unmanned, carrying post and parcels only. It closed in 2003, but re-opened last year as a visitor attraction. It is well worth seeing. The tunnels are a lot smaller than the London Underground!
