Having bathed in the mud puddle below this small White-Breasted Nuthatch is drying out and inspecting it's perch for edibles.

The Thurmond Post Office stopped operations back in the mid-1990's, but it almost looks like you could still walk in to drop off some mail. Originally built as a town commissary in 1929, it was converted to the post office in 1963 after a hotel housing the PO burnt down.

Saigon Central Post Office (Vietnamese: Bưu điện Trung tâm Sài Gòn) is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's main church. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the early 20th century. It has a Gothic architectural style. It was designed and constructed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel in harmony with the surrounding area. Today, the building is a tourist attraction.
Inside the Saigon Central Post office of special note are two painted maps that were created just after the post office was first built, the first one located on the left side of the building is a map of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia titled ‘Lignes telegraphiques du Sud Vietnam et Cambodge 1892′ which translates to ‘Telegraphic lines of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia 1892” The second map of greater Saigon is titled ‘Saigon et ses environs 1892′ translating to ‘Sai Gon and its environment 1892
I don't know how many people use post boxes these days but there are still a few around in our area.

In 1968, a scientist at 3M in the United States, Dr. Spencer Silver, was attempting to develop a super-strong adhesive.
Instead he accidentally created a "low-tack", reusable, pressure-sensitive adhesive. For five years, Silver promoted his "solution without a problem" within 3M both informally and through seminars but failed to gain acceptance.
In 1974 a colleague who had attended one of his seminars, Art Fry, came up with the idea of using the adhesive to anchor his bookmark in his hymnbook. Fry then utilized 3M's officially sanctioned "permitted bootlegging" policy to develop the idea. The original notes' yellow colour was chosen by accident, as the lab next-door to the Post-it team had only yellow scrap paper to use.
