The Ho Chi Minh City Post Office is located just across the road from the Notre Dame Cathedral. It's a tourist attraction too.

My younger son gave me this postbox for my birthday last year, sometimes the postman puts the letters here and sometimes in my other letterbox. I heard a thud as he put a book in it today.

Kolomya is one of the pearls of Galicia that has always been an important city of the province, starting from the pre-Austrian times. Nowadays it is just a county center of the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine but the past days’ glory still exists! Many Ukrainian poets, writers, composers and musicians originate from here. Famous Lemberg-Vienna based writer Sacher Masoch wrote a lot about a very special charm of this town. These photographs don’t show the most beautiful places and buildings, but rather hidden and unknown. As photography is just my hobby I can afford shooting and publishing what is interesting to me, what I like, hate, laugh at or what inspires me.
On April 18 the sun experienced a coronal mass ejection (CME) and spewed sun gunk at the Earth causing some areas to experience auroras. I happened to be out that night and saw something ghostly shifting above which was probably an aurora. Or perhaps more likely aliens in the form of broad, undulating swathes of pale light.
The next morning I took this picture of the sun exhibiting a bad complexion. Forgive me when I anthropomorphize. I'm new to astrophotography.
I've gotten into astrophotography because I'm always in need of a new hobby. I don't ever wish to be bored.

April showers bring May flowers is how the old saying goes and shower it did on this particular afternoon soaking the area in a steady downpour of rain bringing with it not flowers, but a rather a train on the lightly used rails of Union Pacific's Peoria Subdivision. Here, two 4400 horsepower General Electric AC products dressed in the company's "Building America" scheme chug north through the interlocking at South Edelstein beneath the evening’s retreating storm clouds with WIMPRQ 22 and its 39 loaded gondolas of rip-rap rock. UP is taking advantage of its current lack of freight traffic due to PSR, the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and economic meltdown to capitalize on a variety maintenance projects across the system and this particular line has recently become a hotbed for “W” trains like these, seeing sometimes 2-3 of these movements daily. This Chicago-Proviso bound train originated south of St. Louis at the Fred Weber Inc. trap rock quarry in Iron Mountain, MO, loadout for many of the railroad's various rock trains. This is the former Chicago & Northwestern SI Line running between Nelson, IL and Springfield, IL.

This beauty was located in Honolulu, Hawaii, but I'm not sure if it's still there or not. Maybe it was renamed at some point, I don't know, but the marquee showing The Deluge dates this photo to 1933. Interestingly, the movie was the first end-of-the-world disaster movie ever made, according to IMDB. Here's the caption on the back of the photo:
