Hey guys! Just a heads up that I am going to be missing from action here in flickr for the next few days. I'm going on a photography trip that I'm super excited for. I'll keep to the location a surprise until you see the images. I'll catch up as soon as I can. Until then enjoy this lovely field that was a happy discovery tucked away in my lightroom catalog from April.

Immediately upon leaving the annual Parkville Microbrew Festival ( www.parkvillemicrobrewfest.com/ ), I grabbed my camera and shot this eastbound coal train headed towards KC. The park that this festival takes place in is adjacent to BNSF's St. Joe Sub, so attendees are afforded the opportunity to watch trains roll by all day while sipping down some of the region's best brews.

Having seen the dark moody skies yesterday,it was a must that i head off to the coast in search of a shot or two.
Wanting to head somewhere not to far,yet somewhere i had not really shot in some depth,i headed for the beach at Blyth which is home to several groynes, out flow pipes and assorted tank traps.
With the tide rushing in and very near its highest point,it was only right that having stripped and cleaned my tripod the night before,i would proceed to get it caked in saltwater and even worse covered in sand, within minutes of arriving.
I hate the noise of grating sand as you extend the legs and even more so the damage it does.
Any suggestions on a sand proof tripod? Mines going in the bath again today ready for tomorrow mornings shoot.I think i will stick to rocks tomorrow and give the sand a wide berth :)
