Post Card sent to Diana Marion Talbot Watson from her mother Margaret Amy, nee Shorthose, Talbot Watson 4th July 1917, Wilton Park Road, Shanklin, I.O.W. Hampshhire.
Diana Marion Talbot Watson born 1912, Worcester was the daughter of Margaret Amy Shorthose and Louis Talbot Watson who had married in 1911 on the Isle of Wight.
Louis Talbot Watson was a Captain during WWI and killed in action 11th March 1915 and is buried at Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, Departement du Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
Diana died at the early age of 12 in 1924 at Burgess Hill, Sussex.

Since we were close to Montmartre we decided to go to the Sacre Coeur Basilica - big mistake. There was a wine festival going on and the entire area was completely packed - now we know how sardines feel! We got out of the crowd and ambled around Place du Tertre, watching the artists at work, and then ambled down the hill back to our room - what a great day!

The Postcard
A postally unused postcard that was published by the Souvenir Post Card Co. of New York.
On the undivided back of the card in the space for the stamp it states:
'Place Stamp Here.
Domestic One Cent.
Foreign Two Cents.'
Although the card was not posted, someone has written their initials and the date 8/4/05.
Beacon Street in Boston is very long; if anyone out there can identify where the photograph was taken, please leave a note.
A Deadly Flood Near Madrid
So what else happened on the day that the card was written?
Well, on Saturday the 8th. April 1905, hundreds of people were killed in Spain when a dam collapsed near Madrid.
Sarah E. Goode
The day also marked the death at the age of 49 of Sarah E. Goode, the second African-American woman to receive a U.S. patent.
Sarah received the patent in 1885 for her invention of a folding bed.
