HMM... the macromonday theme for today, 4/8, is circle. of the 150+ shots i did of various circles, this is one of the brass button ones, but i liked the napkin ring one the best. so no dithering today :)

The cage was never locked, but she had forgotten how to push the door. Years of silence had curled around her like vines, holding her in place. One morning, she saw it—a crack of light spilling through the bars, a taste of air that didn’t feel stolen.
She stepped outside, her first breath sharp and alive, filling her lungs with sky. Above her, clouds drifted like promises she could almost touch. A bird soared past, wings slicing the wind, and she felt something stir in her chest—a memory, a yearning.
The sea called her next, its rhythm a heartbeat older than time. She walked to the shore, her footprints new on the sand. The waves kissed her ankles, cool and insistent, as if saying, “Come further.”
She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, the salt and sun tangling inside her. It felt like birth—like the first breath she’d ever taken. In that moment, hope unfolded within her, soft and unbroken.
The cages were behind her now, forgotten. Ahead was only sky, sea, and the endless possibility of flight.

HMM-- the theme for today, 8/17 is push/pull. found this theme particularly tricky since several of mine were trying to show the push or pull action, which is not easy when simultaneously trying to push the buttons on an iphone ~grin~, so i opted for no action. this may be the best macro of the four and it surprised me to discover that floss was more ribbon-y than thread-y.

Possibility Days - Counting Crows
It was a cold 3AM at JFK
I guess you stayed because you wanted to stay

Retiro Pond
Retiro Pond, or ‘Estanque del Retiro’ in Spanish, is a large, artificial lake located near the park’s northern entrance. There is the possibility to rent rowboats, which is a very popular activity on the weekends. Next to the lake stands the impressive Alfonso XII Monument that consists of a semicircular colonnade and a huge pedestal with an equestrian statue of the king on top.

I enjoy doing habitat shot even further away than this image. When I see the possibility of doing it, I sure take the time to place myself and wait for wildlife to swim by in a two to three foreground dimensions.

the macromonday theme for 5/20 is copper (bronze and brass are ok, too)...... "Bronze and brass are acceptable as is oxidized, tarnished or corroded metallic copper such as verdigris but copper-based chemicals such as copper sulfate or Schweizer's reagent are not."........ artistically this one might be the best but i think i'm going to go with the copper fly- oh, my
