Way back in the 1990s, before MP3s, iPod Nano, Spotify and all the rest, this was the portable music device for Generation X (and it still works really well despite having travelled all over the place with me, might I add). PS the downside was always having to untangle the earphone cord, which was the case again for taking this picture, so I just gave up.

I just received this one portable CD winner.

It's 1-bit DAC device back from ~1992. Able to power up AKG K240 on a very loud level without much distortions, that's just amazing.

Back in times when sony was a worthable of mention, they were producing a nice boxes of wires and stuff.

It may not sound flawlessly (what r u asking, srsly?), but it sounds just awesome. You'd be lucky to put your hands on one like this. I might be in double luck, I got this for less than $75, used, but in perfect audio condition.

It doesn't have antishock but will serve you well in more or less static environment, you can use it in bus, train, plane with no lags if you're not running around.

Antishock is basically a feature preserving a constant flow of shit into your ears. If you really care for sound and want to take your music with you, forget about it and get yourself one of old sony devices.

I bought this in late 1988 or early 1989 for $299+taxes (I'm sure I've still got the receipt somewhere too), which was a huge amount of money for me at that time, and it's the only portable CD player I've ever owned.

Day 4-Today I was thinking, hey I wonder if this still works and I got some batteries and put them in, pressed play and sure enough it does! Yes, that is an old portable cd player and I am listening to music at the gym (Ghost). This belonged to my best friend (who had a b-day on monday) because he'd gotten a new one and I still had a tape player in my old 94 Lumina.
