Director, screenwriter, pornographer, hellraiser -- Ed Wood was one of the most iconoclastic and tragic figures in Hollywood history, best known for his awful films: Plan 9 from Outer Space, Bride of the Monster, Orgy of the Dead, Glen or Glenda and other schlock masterpieces. He had no talent for filmmaking but he made movies anyway. Ed's writing is on about the same level as his filmmaking but Ed was nothing if not sincere. His alter-ego, Glenda, loved angora and played dress-up wearing skirts and ladies underwear.
On the front cover is Ed Wood in "Glen or Glenda," surrounded by Vampira, Criswell, Bela Lugosi and Tor Johnson. They shined in Ed Wood's outrageous celluloid classics.
Tim Burton made a movie about Ed Wood in 1994 with Johnny Depp starring as the eccentric director.
Challengers no.351, by The New Pornographers from the album Challengers
Yes I know it was late
We were greeting the sun
Before long
And you live with someone
I live with somebody too
Leave it there
For safe keeping
One of the west village in plains
That was the custom
Come dawn
Oh-la, oh-la, oh-la, oh-la
Oh-la, oh-la, oh-la, oh-la

Hand screenprinted poster for The New Pornographers with The Dodos, and The Dutchess & The Duke's show on June 19, 2010 at Terminal 5, New York, NY.
One of our long time favorites, The New Pornographers. Huzzaah! We are really excited to be a part of their summer 2010 tour poster series, where the band has a different gig poster artist do a different poster design for each stop on the tour. Plus the neato line up of bands on this tour, and, being that we're super down with NYC, winner winner!
So hey chum, you are looking at my all hand screenprinted poster for this awesome line up of bands. It's my 2-color, suggestive and rockin' all hand screenprinted poster with tender pink and midnight black, hand mixed and non-toxic water based screenprinting inks.
Like all of my posters, this limited edition silkscreen poster is signed (by me strawberryluna) and numbered in a limited edition of 240. Size: 16 x22 inches (39.4 cm x 55.9 cm.) Paper: archival Cougar, White 100lb cover weight.
Volume 3 contains the stories “Son of Celluloid,” “Rawhead Rex,” “Confession of a (Pornographer’s) Shroud,” “Scape-Goats,” “Human Remains.” Barker himself adapted "Rawhead Rex" into a movie in 1986. A particularly nasty demon is released from his underground prison by an unwitting farmer. The film follows Rawhead Rex's rampage through the Irish countryside while a man struggles to stop it.

The “Books of Blood” are a series of horror fiction collections written by the British author Clive Barker. There are six books in all and each contains up to six stories. With the publication of the first volume, Barker became an overnight sensation and was hailed by Stephen King as “the future of horror.” The book won both the British and World Fantasy Awards.
Although undoubtedly horror stories, like most of Barker's work they mix fantasy themes in as well. The unrelentingly bleak tales invariably take place in a contemporary setting, usually featuring everyday people who become embroiled in terrifying or mysterious events. For the hardcover editions, Clive Barker himself illustrated each book’s cover. [Source: Wikipedia]
“Everybody is a book of blood;
Wherever we’re opened, we’re red.”
Clive Barker
AUSTIN, TX- MARCH 15: Neko Case of The New Pornographers performs onstage during SXSW 2006 at Stubb's on March 15, 2006 in Austin, Texas.
Balancing on
One wounded wing
Circling the edge
Of the neverending
The best of the vanished marvels have gathered inside your door
More than begin
But less than forget
But spirits born
From the not happened yet
Gathering there
To pay off a debt brought back from the wars
We thought we lost you
We thought we lost you
We thought we lost you
Welcome back
Sleeping for years
Pick through what is left
Through the pieces that fell and rose from the depth
From the rainwater well
Deep as a secret nobody knows
Less than forget
But more than begun
These adventures in solitude never done
To the names of our wounds
We send the same blood back from the wars
We thought we lost you
We thought we lost you
We thought we lost you
It will all come back
I know you want to
Work for
Wait for
Want more
And that it's comin' at a bad time
Some cold place
Heartless ways
For all we know
I know you need to
Breathe through
Come back
Come to
But it's comin' at a bad time
Some lost heart
Tangled day
For all we know

This was shot at ISO3200... Image quality is just incredible.
Check this shot out Large On Black
I went to watch The New Pornographers recently at a local hotel. Decided to give the D700 a bit of a flogging by seeing what it would do at high ISO.
At 3200 ISO the noise is barely visible!! I am stoked with the image quality.
By the way, the band are absolutely fantastic, click on the link to have a listen to their music while you are cruising the photos.

For the geeky pixel peepers who want to look at the low-light capabilities of the D700. This was shot at ISO3200. You should view this Large On Black
This is definitely a departure from my regular stuff. I saw this band in concert on Sunday... they are a "super group" from Canada... If you want to listen to their music Click here
All I can say is that this camera's low-light handling is just unbelievable!!
The porn studio downstairs from our office gave us a couple twelve-packs of beer for putting up with the noise et al.
