Susan and I scoured thrift and antique shops the past couple of weeks. Not only are we beginning to gather wedding decor, but my front porch sorely needed some attention. I spent all day Sunday potting in the garden. I feel so fortunate to finally live in a place where I can successfully help plants flourish.
I was cycling home from work last week and passed a guy who sells succulents out of his front garden. I ended up talking to him for ages, and he gave me a box full of cuttings for five bucks, which is what you see here, now planted with love! Also, I paid five dollars for that fabulous chair. It was a grand weekend.

After viewing a film about Weddell seals, we began to understand Daisybug's basking inclination, and to question her heredity.
What a blessing it is to not only still have my granddad, but to able to spend time with him every day.
He is an exceptional man in so many ways, and through him I see evidence of my loving Savior.
I would do anything for this man. Who deserves it more?

Roaming through rural VA, I came across this historic home with a rugged porch. If those could talk....
Upperville has been designated as the Upperville Historic District and is a Virginia Historic Landmark that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Situated eight miles to the west of Middleburg, the Upperville/Middleburg area is home to a number of prominent Thoroughbred horse breeding farms and country estates. Part of Virginia's famous Piedmont horse country, the Upperville Colt & Horse Show was conceived by Colonel Richard Henry Dulany and first held in 1853. It remains the oldest such event in America.
