How can this be 33 years old?! Certainly done well to survive this long, looks like it was getting used very sparingly until 2017/18, then it was off-road until 2020 since when the mileage has been going up more rapidly - it did nearly 11,000 miles between tests in January 2022 and 2023.

Thanks to fellow flickorite and 1Z10 member Duncan McEvoy for the heads up for this location which is Towthorpe about 5 miles outside of York on the line to Scarborough.
I was in position for sunrise which turned out to be a bit of a non event on this morning but i did get a nice shot of Venus in close proximity to the new crescent moon.
Back to buisness and here we see 37419 leading the 3J51 0950 York Thrall to York Thrall Nth Yks RHTT service with 37422 bringing up the rear.
The solitary tree is the natural balance for any composition at this location and has featured in many a shot. I think its an Oak and definitely not a Poplar.
Popular location for walkers is the Panorama Walk above Barmouth. Although I've seen plenty of photographs of this place, I don't think I've ever seen a panorama taken there. With a name like the Panorama Walk it only seemed logical to take a panorama photograph :)
On thing to remember is to check my settings before shooting, ended up shooting jpeg all day instead of Raw :(

El paseo de los filósofos (哲学の道 Tetsugaku-no-michi, lit.

The Philosopher's Walk (哲学の道, Tetsugaku-no-michi, lit. Path of Philosophy) is a pedestrian path that follows a cherry-tree-lined canal in Kyoto, Japan between Ginkaku-ji and Nanzen-ji. First opened in 1890 and extended again in 1912, the path follows the course of a shallow irrigation channel bringing water from the Lake Biwa Canal. The route is so-named because two 20th-century Japanese philosophers and Kyoto University professors Nishida Kitaro and Hajime Tanabe are thought to have used it for daily exercise. The path passes a number of temples and shrines such as Hōnen-in, Ōtoyo Shrine, and Eikan-dō Zenrin-ji. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the walk, although many people spend more time visiting the sights along the way. On the northern part of the walk, there are good views of the nearby Daimonji. The walk is a popular destination for tourists and locals, especially during hanami.

Now that I am back in Sydney, its time for me to start posting some more photos from my recent trip to the South Island of New Zealand with One Of A Kind Photography Adventures ran by Timothy Poulton Panorama Photography.
I shot twice at the famous Lake Wanaka tree - seeing it for the first time was almost a humbling experience as it just sat there a good 20 metres out in the middle of the lake. I chose this composition as I thought the poplar trees framed the image nicely.
I took this photo using the following equipment
Nikon D800E
Schneider PC TS Super-Angulon 50mm f/2.8 Lens

Cabo Girão is a lofty sea cliff located along the southern coast of the island of Madeira, in the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira. Cabo Girão is a popular lookout point, especially after a glass-floored viewing platform was installed in October 2012.[ The location is a popular starting point for hikers.
It is situated less than two kilometres west from the centre of Câmara de Lobos, between the parishes of Quinta Grande and Câmara de Lobos. A diamond-shaped sea-cliff escarpment from 560 metres (1,840 ft) to 589 metres (1,932 ft) above sea level, Cabo Girão lies between two river-valleys that flow into the Atlantic Ocean. The escarpment/cliffs extend approximately three kilometres between the urban sprawl of Câmara de Lobos to the east and the river-valley of Quinta Grande in the west.
Although brochures claim that it is the second highest cliff in Europe, at least five European cliffs (Hornelen at 860 metres, Cape Enniberg at 750 metres, Vixía Herbeira at 613 metres, Preikestolen at 604 metres and Slieve League at 601 metres) are higher.
There are terraced fields (Fajãs de Cabo Girão) located below the sheer cliffs, which at one time only accessible by boat. In August 2003, a cable car was installed on the slope of the cliff so farmers can reach these low-lying fields.
It is a popular beach and the name of the surrounding suburb in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Bondi Beach is located 7 km east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Waverley Council, in the Eastern Suburbs. Bondi, North Bondi, and Bondi Junction are neighbouring suburbs. Bondi Beach is one of the most visited tourist sites in Australia. The sweeping white-sand crescent of Bondi is one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. Reliable waves draw surfers while, nearby, hardy locals swim in the Icebergs ocean pool year-round. Trendy, health-conscious Sydneysiders head to laid-back cafes around Hall Street, while hip backpackers frequent the area's casual pubs. Walkers and joggers use the clifftop Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, with its dramatic scenery. 8018

This winter has been a very good one to see Hooded Mergansers in my travels. This lone female Merganser has 3 males taking an interest in her.

It was departing to "cottage country", well north of Toronto.
Amphibious Cessna 206s are a common sight in the Greater Toronto Area during summer, as they shuttle people back and forth between their urban and rural residences.
