I remember this like it was yesterday! My parents couldn't believe how cold the weather was when the pool was being built.
I would come home for lunch from Martha Campbell Elementary, where my mom would fix me a hot lunch and I would get to watch the workers build our pool. The Good Humor Man would come by every day and we would line up to buy single (5¢) or double (10¢) popsicles.
After the pool was built I would come home--again at lunch--and go swimming. I don't think I've missed anything more in my entire life than having a built-in pool. The size of the pool was 16' x 24'. After the pool was set the crew from Signature Pools dug a trench and ran the gas line for the pool heater. One of the many advantages of having Signature Pools build your inground fiberglass pool is that all of the work is done in house - no subs are used.
The old vinyl pool is placed on a trailer and ready to be thrown away. Luckily with a new fiberglass pool the homeowners won't have to worry about doing this again!
