The oldest pub on Poole Quay.
Originating from 1635 and steeped in history this distinctive green tiled pub on the quayside is popular with locals and tourists alike. Pews, the bar and wood panelled walls adorned with old Poole photographs dominate the small cosy single room interior, while bench seating at the front provides a great place to watch the many activities taking place on the quay
You know the old saying "'You wait ages for a boat then three come along at once?" Oh wait, that's buses isn't it?
I love boats and ships. Being ex Navy I love being at sea, I can't sail to save my life, I leave that to more qualified people, I'm just along for the ride.
Anyway, here's two ships and a boat, The Lithuanian cargo ship M/V Afalina, the TSYT ship Stavros S Niarchos in the background and a small ferry boat in Poole Quay.

The harbour is one of the largest natural harbours in the world
with an area of approximately 36 km2 (14 sq mi).
Apart from the channels, it is also very shallow with an average depth of just 48 cm.
On the left is Brownsea Island, the largest island within the harbour which is owned by the National Trust.
DRS Locos through Poole are as rare as hens teeth so this working was very welcome in the Loco desert that is Dorset!! 57002 'Rail Express' catches some spring time sun just as a down service clears the frame with the 0Z57 Norwich to Southampton Central via Weymouth 'Route Learner'. This working SHOULD be the precursor to some Flask/Waste trains running to and from Winfrith near Wool
