A view upstream on the River Taff at Pontypridd, with the Victoria Bridge of 1857 nearer and behind it the William Edwards Bridge of 1756. The older bridge is Grade 1 Listed and scheduled as an ancient monument. At the time of its completion, its 140ft / 43 m arch was the longest in Britain (and one of the longest in the world), and remained such for forty years.

On the left behind the bridges is the Pontypridd Museum, opened here in 1986 in what had been the Tabernacle Welsh Baptist Chapel that was built in 1861. Much of the interior, including the organ, remains in place.

Pontypridd isn't just raining every day, it also has some really bright buildings that hint at a brighter future.

This one was from the Gallery I have produced to reflect the U3A Photography group trip this week. The full Gallery can be seen on my website:-

I have just joined the U3A Cardiff group on Photography and it is full of really nice people who meet regularly to discuss and comment on photos The group also has Photographic trips where members go to a place and take images on one or more themes. It is wonderful.

This photo was taken this week on a really wet day in Pontypridd in the South Wales Valleys.

I have a collection of these images from the trip on my website where I have set up a page for them with Galleries from my work on these excursions.:-
