I was photgraphing a Hawk perched in a tree above when this Bobcat ran right in front of me. It paused for a few moments before entering the tall grass in pursuit of a rabbit. A few minutes later, the rabbit came out and the Bobcat remerged even closer to me. By the time I switched back from the Hawk to the Bobcat, I only photographed the back of its head that second time around.
Los mejores pueden resbalar y los más cautos caer, está por encima de los mortales no equivocarse nunca.
John Pomfret
This is the main part of the property, which includes this small barn on the upper part of the land. The nearly fluorescent green of the grass was the colour on that day. The extremely bright and harsh light added to the effect. Be aware that the road that passes by this iconic farm will be closed to visitors from September 23rd to October 15th.
Submarine in the Strait of Juan de Fuca in front of Mount Baker
I think this might be the USS Jimmy Carter, a fast attack sub of the Seawolf class (Jimmy was a submariner and made lieutenant aboard the USS Pomfret). An ironic tribute to a peaceful man.
discovered in the small pond at Martha's Herbary in Pomfret - one of my favorite diversions in the "Quiet Corner" of CT. ;-)
Surprise, surprise - when I did an updated Explore check, I discovered that this one was in there @ #197 for that day. ;-)

I had been hoping to get a photo opportunity with a Bobcat some day. Being mostly nocturanl, I consider this sighting rather special.
Winter is trying to hold on as can be seen in the foreground, but there is no denying spring. However, in Vermont we have 5 seasons and right now we are in what we call mud season.
Fresh snow always looks so beautiful, and we got 8-12 inches up through last night in most of New Hampshire and Vermont, so my dog Casey and I headed out to the Sleepy Hollow Farm in the town of South Pomfret, Vermont. Pomfret borders the town of Woodstock, and this whole area is one of the prettiest in Vermont. The 115 acre farm was purchased by Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry in 2005, where he raised Friesian horses. He sold the farm in 2015.
White Pomfret
Silver or White Pomfrets live in coastal waters off the Americas, Western Africa and the Indo-Pacific Region. Fish of this family are characterized by their flat body, forked tail fin and long pectoral fins.
Silver Pomfret are usually silver/white in color, with few small scales. They can grow up to 4-6 kg (8–13 lb). however, due to overfishing, specimens weighing less than 1 kg (2 lb) are more commonly seen.
This fish is prized in the Indo-Pacific Region for its taste. It is called "Paplet" in Mumbai and "Vawall" in parts of South India.

When I was admiring the colors of this mountainside forest, I did not see the red house at first. Perfectly blending in
to its surroundings, hiding in plain sight.
I have been told that this road will be closed during the foliage season this year. I happened to pass there a couple of weeks ago and no one was there.
