An 'eternity' or endless scarf is also known as a cowl. It may be worn around the neck and draped over the head to protect the neck, ears and crown of the head from chill. Another option is to wear it doubled around the neck (as shown) - simply to keep both front and back of the neck warm without constricting. The convenience of an endless scarf proves itself when out running errands. Unwrap it, leave it to hang down in an oval from the neck, and never again lose your scarf while walking through the grocery store!

22 November 2014: A knitted finish. This is the Bo-Peep Scarf by tinyowlknits in Rowan Kidsilk Haze yarn (70% super kid mohair/30% silk), shade #605 (“Smoke”), and Rowan Angora Haze yarn (69% angora/20% polyamide/11% wool), in shade #529 (“Caring”).

Hat Pattern: improvised. 3.5mm/US 4 dpns. CO 4 sts, knit a couple of inches of i-cord, then two rounds of *kfb* to bring stitch count to 16. Alternated rounds of increases (8 increases per round) and rounds of knitting plain until 80 sts total on needles, then continued knitting plain.
After washing, the brim won't roll easily. I may just turn it up and sew a folded hem, or rip back and re-knit the hem as ribbing.
GREEN GRADS UPDATE December 2021
GREEN GRAD weaver Georgie Apps has got a job at Heathcoat - “the market-leading manufacturer of engineered technical textiles.” They have an impressive sustainability manifesto. At our show in the summer Georgie told us she wanted to research recycling nylon or polyester to replace raw materials. Now she is "studying alternatives to polyamide fibre." So it sounds like a very good fit!
She's just one of our GREEN GRAD making a difference.
And a note about the pic: At GREEN GRADS Georgie delighted visitors with the subtle textures and natural dyes of her “Working with Nature” set of eleven designs , woven on two different looms (a Dobby 16 shaft, and a table 16 shaft, for those in the know…). A typical example has a warp of locally-sourced cotton with weft of waste yarn and scraps saved from previous projects – “tied together by me and my boyfriend.” The pattern is a simple plain weave with narrow bands of pleats – and, for a bit of excitement, " chunky bits of pure organic cotton.” Georgie really is an inspired weaver and we hope she can exhibit more of her beautiful work soon....

This project, developed by DO THE MUTATION, explores the border between physical and virtual, connecting computer code's abstractions with the intimate, visceral dimension of body alteration brought by the mask theme. The topographic anatomy of the face acts as input for algorithms that generate the fibers that form the object, creating a material formation that after 3d printing perfectly fits its territory, people's faces.
The masks are produced as unique pieces through 3D Printing and WINDFORM materials.
Windform LX 2.0 is the material chosen for this state-of-the-art application of generative design and it is a black polyamide-based material reinforced with glass fiber used in high performance fields from motorsport to aerospace industry.
Windform LX 2.0 is aesthetically pleasant, able to preserve in time the chromatic features, showing important mechanical characteristics that allow to create highly complex geometries avoiding the risk of breakings or deformations. The feeling on the skin is nice, allowing for a long-lasting dressing.

Description: Following a traditional Amish “Sunshine and Shadow” quilting pattern, Gschwandtner combines two films into a study of contrasts: light/dark, discovery/deception, creation/breakdown. One film is for children to learn about shadows and make them with their hands. The other is a cheery industrial film on fabric manufacturing produced by Bradford Dyeing Association in Rhode Island. Gschwandtner's juxtaposes them to “bring out the shadowy aspects of the textile mill film.” The false picture of happy workers masked years of labor abuse, chemical dumping, and supplying the U.S. military with camouflage. Closed by 2011, Bradford had made its own bed.

The films included in this quilt are: “Quilts in Women’s Lives,” “Peruvian Weaving,” “Shadows, Shadows Everywhere,” “Bradford Dyeing Association,” “What is a Dress?” and the artist’s own footage.

Nylacast Nylube is'nt all brute force and strength, he has a sensitive side too.
He hates the sight or wear and abrasion and combats this by crying! Nylacast materials are self lubricating, which gives them high resistance to wear and abrasion.
Many appliances fit into this handknitted little thing. Unlike the Red Button bags I made before, this one will fit an I-phone 4.
I used 75% wool/25% polyamide for these sock cosy type of bags. They are knitted with the Fair Isle technique. This makes it a very sturdy but still stretchy fabric. The object you put inside will be protected. It is knitted without a seam. The elastic black closure is sewn to the bottom of the bag. Just for fun I added a yellow button.

Colors: green, blue, purple, pink, lilac, a touch of mustard yellow, and orange. Many colors due to the use of 2 strands of self striping sock wool. The end result still surprises me everytime. That is the fun part of knitting it.
