Tides out at the little Fishermans port of Polperro Cornwall. The colourful boats and cottages surround the little port. #Polperro

Our view of Polperro harbour after a 5 mile walk along the coastal path, starting at West Looe. The wildflowers and sunny scenic views were well worth the hike. If you've done the walk you'll know just how hilly it is! We caught the ferry boat back to Looe.

Have a lovely weekend everyone :)

Entrance to the harbor in Polperro, Cornwall, UK. The building is a former 'net loft' and has since been restored.

From the National Trust website description:

"The Net Loft is a Grade II listed building believed to have been a Chapel. By the fourteenth century Polperro was a busy port, and the village fishermen became rich enough to build their own chapel in 1391, dedicated to St Peter, the patron saint of fishermen. The chapel initially stood on Chapel Point above the harbour (in the grounds of the property 'Mont St Pierre'), but it is believed that it was moved some 200 years ago to Peak Rock, the site of the Net Loft today.

In more recent years, before it was abandoned, the ground floor was used for boat building and the top for storing sails and pilchard nets. The building may also have been a lighthouse, as it is ideally situated for a beacon. It has seen its fair share of weather and stormy seas, battered by huge waves in recent winters."

Whilst I still have plenty of images from NZ, I am now going to be including some of my other travel shots as well!

Have a great day/evening!

Thanks for taking the time to make a comment, I really appreciate it and will always try to reciprocate with a visit back to your stream.

Polperro, Cornwall. With it's white-washed houses and cottages plus narrow quirky streets, this fishing village is well worth a visit. :)

Low tide in Polperro, a fishing village on the south-eastern coast of Cornwall. Samyang wide-angle lens at approx. F11.

Polperro (Cornish: Porthpyra meaning Pyra's cove) is a village and fishing harbour on the south-east Cornwall coast in the south west of England..

Polperro, through which runs the River Pol, is 7 miles (11 km) east of Fowey and 4 miles (6 km) west of the neighbouring town of Looe and 25 miles (40 km) west of the major city and naval port of Plymouth. It is a noted tourist destination, particularly in the summer months, for its idyllic appearance with tightly-packed ancient fishermen's houses which survive almost untouched, its quaint harbour and attractive coastline.(Wikipedia)

Polperro harbour at low tide. You may notice the River Pol flowing diagonally through the picture. Like many other of Cornwall's picturesque fishing villages, Polperro has attracted artists and galleries and both injecting new life into the place. Oskar Kokoschka, the painter, stayed for a while. It is also a place where photographers would find much inspiration. Helios 44M-7 at approx. F11.

The quaint village of Polperro (pop. 1,554) on the south Cornwall coast, about 40km west of Plymouth. Still a working fishing port, although tourism is a bigger part of its economy now.

Another picture from my recent coverage of Polperro on the south coast of Cornwall. Chocolate box pretty, the traditional fishing village is enormously popular with visitors, though from this shot you would hardly know anyone was there.

Currently rediscovering a love of B&W.

Just along from the gull I met this friendly cat who was looking to be petted.

Happy Furry Friday!

The shower is finally in so we were able to have a shower last night - wooo hooo! Just needs decorating and new flooring putting down. Hopefully all finished by next week.

Got to do some serious tidying up this weekend so will be staying at home.

Wishing you all a happy and carefree weekend
