Gemini, Constellation - Constellation lines by H.A. Rey
Gemini is dominated by the two bright stars Castor and Pollux, seen at the top of the photo with Castor on the right. Castor, with a magnitude of 1.58, is a famous binary star with its companion at a separation of 3.1 arc seconds. This is the first binary star system discovered in 1802 by William Herschel. Pollux, with a visual magnitude of 1.14, is the brighter of the two stars.
