It was a really hot and sunny day today, but suddenly started raining. So I took the D300 out and tried to shoot some waterdrops and flowers without a flash to see if the sunny day would provide enough light. These pictures are the result of that test.

The backdoor Passion Flower has been flowering since Spring. It continues even now, even in torrential rain, and the bees love it. Like something out of Avatar, but right here, right now.
Third Graders from Southern Boone Elementary in Ashland helped take part in a native pollinator planting project at Bradford Research Center on Nov. 9, 2014. The project is part of a series of five plantings across the state partly sponsored by Missouri Department of Conservation, Quail Forever and Sport Dog Foundation. Seeds were provided by Pure Air Natives and Hamilton Native Outpost.

Oberlin's pollinator garden lives in an open atrium in the Science Center. The garden is visited by bees, birds, and several species of insects.

I planted a few sunflowers rather late in August, and today I had a very cooperative bee who was not bothered at all by me taking a lot of pictures.

I have not been able to find anything out about the Pollinate posters (on the right). The posters on the right asks what the "Girl from Ipanema" drinks and advertises something used to make a Caipirinha, the Brazilian national drink.
