Afternoon Siesta for this little bee! This little guy shifted around once and was quite cozy in the pollen. The corollas of flowers in the sun may be a couple degrees warmer, which may cause some pollinators to linger a bit longer and get a bit more pollen.
Anyone know the species of insect?

At least 1 bee joined the nessus sphinx moth in pollinating our milkweed tonight. (There's also an ant visible in some of these photos. What you don't see are the milkweed bugs on the leaves, or the disgusting earwigs that also like to hang out there.)

The macro creates an incredibly narrow depth of field.
