It seems that there are pollen EVERYWHERE where I go in Italy! Today they gave some nice atmospheric effect that I spotted when I took the train from Venice Meste station. The man on the photograph later checked our tickets.
Always nice when your subject gives you a pretty background.

"Swallowtail and Shadow" by Patti Deters. A yellow tiger swallowtail butterfly (Papilio canadensis) has landed on a green plant, with shadows from a nearby window. If you look closely, you can see that the "feet" are barely even touching the leaf. These little pollinators are so delicate, it's amazing the important role they play in our environment. Look closely at the trout-lily on the left and you will notice a small insect brushing against the pollen on the anthers of the flower. As the insect moves, it transfers the pollen to the stigma thereby fertilizing the seeds that will ripen to germinate and produce another generation of trout-lilies.
