the northern sky revolves around the north star, Polaris. The (slightly moving) distinctive 'big dipper', Ursa Major, can be seen, bottom left. Best viewed on black.
This one is quite interesting - If anyone has seen the Film Die Hard With A Vengeance there is a ship that Simon uses to ship out gold (not actually on board though) called Forest Swan. Link Polaris is the very same ship used for filming that film.
Forest Swan was her real name. Quite cool!
