Boxing Day, and Wally and Julie the Pointers are taking a well-deserved break from going bonkers all round the garden. Wally (nearest) is only 1 year old. Julie is 14, and very much the boss.

I was not the only one interested in capturing my wildlife subject. When I saw this beauty coming closer on the other side of the river, I was completely taken by him or her, enough that I started to shoot this dog instead of my subject. It was the first time I saw a German Shorthair Pointer, well I think that is what it is. Would love to take head shots of this very lovely animal some day.

...... a few more ice shots .... I had to make the most of that one day we had. Avert your eyes if you are tired of them by now ....
Rabbit is an English Pointer Mix, and she does in fact go on point from time to time. She's seen here yesterday afternoon pointing a deer. Sometimes she points with lovely, classical, Alfred Duke dog-portrait form, but never when I have a camera in hand. :)
More often Rabbit's pointing is a signal of uncertainty or indecision. She'll go on a wobbly, tentative point if you call her and she can't quite decide whether to respond, of if she's torn between coming over for a hug or checking out a delicious smell from the kitchen.
It makes me wonder whether pointing in the hunting fields starts out as a sign of indecision. "Do I sprint and try to catch this thing now, or do I stalk it for another step or two before I take off?"
Better in color (below) or black and white?
The versatile, medium-sized German Shorthaired Pointer is an enthusiastic gundog of all trades who thrives on vigorous exercise, positive training, and a lot of love.

I take my German Shorthaired Pointer to the woodland adjacent to Phalaborwa for his weekly exercise, and mine. I always take my camera and macro lens with me to shoot butterflies and all sorts of insects and wild flowers.

The Yue Loong Datsun Sunny 101 pick-up was a hugely successful pick-up and still has its fan following in Taiwan, there are still quite some on the road. It was succeeded by the Nissan Sunny B13 pick-up (sold as AD Resort pick-up), but it probably couldn't match the numbers of its classic predecessor. Proton also tried with the Jumbuck/Arena, while Volkswagen sold the Brazilian Saveiro pick-up as Pointer. Not common in Taiwan.
