I'm taking part in a charity promotional event in Shanghai at the moment for the brand Pointers. We where asked to paint 2 pairs of shoes as we wanted to be then auctioned out to the highest bidder on the 17th (tomorrow). The money is supposed to go to a charity fund raising organisation. Anyways here are my 2 submissions using the Handcan dude that I'm working on.
This laser pointer was turned from a length of aluminium tube for the body and two lengths of solid rod for the end cap and diode holder at the front. 4 AA batteries, wired to give 3v, powers the green 75mw diode. Everything's held in place with grub screws. This took a couple of evenings work to turn up. Ended up fairly heavy and very solid :)
Our green laser pointers have been used in many applications including military, medical and astronomy, indicator, teaching baton

Another one I took and didn't post last year as I had something else I was happier with that day, and expected to just retake this one, but never got around to it.
The processing was inspired by a photo I'd seen at the V&A and ended up trying out in this photo, but I actually think it worked a bit better here.
