He may look miserable and unfriendly, but look very closely and see "Love" in his eyes. A totem pole sculpture at Pistyll Rhaeadr, just by the cafe car park.
By the way when I took the picture the temperature was 33 degrees Celsius !!! Despite the temperature Alice likes to lie on my arm.

I went to a friend’s wedding yesterday as a guest and decided to take my Canon PowerShot G15 along with me. While I know that my iPhone could’ve taken “Better” photo I wanted to see how the Canon G15 would fare. I really dig the this little point and shoot Camera! Even with all of its flaws I think it produces photos that have a certain personality that is lacking with an iPhone. I’m looking forward to learning more about how to use it in different photography situations!

I shot this for my one daughter. She loves reflections, trees, silhouettes and B&W photos. This should fit all those categories.
This, of course, is from last winter. Im starting to look forward to snow and think about how to try to improve my photographs of snowflakes. For fun in the meantime, I started re-editing some of the old ones from last winter. I have done a little bit of sharpening and enhancing - I think I made it pop more hopefully without overdoing it.
The big red thing in the left of the picture is my fingertip (not thumb) wearing a fuzzy red glove, which gives you an idea of scale. The snowflake landed there and was caught in the fibers of the glove. I was using a Canon Powershot Sd1100, which is a small point and shoot camera, with an AGFA magnetic macro lens on the front. Handheld, no tripod, all natural light from the snowy sky. So far I have actually had much better luck with macros with that setup than with "better" cameras - I think the depth of field is more forgiving with the smaller sensor/lens of a compact point and shoot. But, this winter, I plan to try it with my new Sony Nex and Raynox macro lens and see if I can improve with that setup.
