Pictured here is a view of a beautiful old-fashioned style barn located in Southwestern Illinois, which is considered to be in the Heartland (or Midwest) of the United States.
The shot was captured on a recent trip to visit with family, and I made sure to find a little time for some photography of the area around my wife's uncle's farm. This particular barn had an almost a Norman Rockwell-esque appearance, so I tried to take a little bit of inspiration from those works for the processing.

First post for 2010, I am trying to experiment on the effects of plugins for photographs. This is my way of saying Hi to all my Flickr friends.
Have a great day.

The dropbox plugin allows you to batch-upload files into your Omeka archive, and associate them with collections as well as tag them. It can also be used to associate files with pre-existing items.

devo pulire per bene l'obiettivo perchè vedo troppe cose che non mi piacciono.
please no graphics in your comments. if it's from a group i've posted in choose the little one - comment with only graphics will be deleted. thanks
Two of the many options, a lighter and a dark version.
Six new Luts for use in RawTherapee, Darktable and other compatible software. These are intended to simulate infrared images. After diving into a lot of "real" infrared pictures, or what had to pass for it, and after a long unsuccessful search, I found no presets, luts or recipes for this that gave acceptable results or at least not for free :-)
So I made a set of Luts myself.
Unlike other Luts for “film simulation”, where the changes are rather subtle, these Luts are very different - not to say “Extreme”. As I have written before in other articles about applying PictureFX Luts, depending on the picture, there may be needed (a lot of) adjustment. The best results are usually obtained by carefully combining both the Filter Strength, the Channel Mixer and Exposure, in order to achieve a nice end result through small adjustments.

Before I forget, now also in the G'MIC-Qt plugin, so also in Gimp, Krita, Paint.net and Digikam. Thanks David T. !

I began experimenting with the latest Topaz Photoshop and Photoshop Elements plug-in called B&W Effects and think it's one heck of a bargain at the special price of $29.99 for the next two weeks.
This is an original color photo I took last year in Grand Teton National Park - and using this plug-in I was able to achieve an old time vintage postcard look to the modern image.
I'm not affiliated with Topaz whatsoever, but I do use their plug-ins and like them. Here's a link to the special price offer:
Highly recommended.

How To Use VirtualPhotographer - I hope this will help anyone fairly new to photography and are wondering about how to post-process a photo to give a dramatic monochrome look using free software (apps). I took the original colour photo with my Panasonic Lumix LF1 compact camera back in April 2016, I’m using the original as example of what you can do with the free VirtualPhotographer plugin. I use this with IrfanView. I have detailed the steps I used to go from the “as taken” image to the above black & white image, you can download the how to do it in PDF here: app.box.com/s/ol8gpm1vz483t751n3qkse7x4502aewt
