Here in the US, while the president lies to us about the "left-wing problem" the right wing hate groups are plotting to kidnap government officials and start a civil war, Trump's response - "stand back and stand by". Well, we have our Armed Services and the State National Guards. We don't need right-wind militia hate groups walking around with guns or a "Trump Army" to "protect" us, we're better than this, WAKE UP PEOPLE - VOTE!!
And then a fly appeared on Pence's head during the debate. The fly is now famous!

This pair of Rainbow Lorikeets were sitting in the gum trees twittering away planning their raids on the local fruit trees nearby. They certainly seemed well fed! HWW
The Newell Family Cemetery near tiny New Bedford,IL. It contains the final resting place for generations of this area family, and unlike most other family plots, is located off a fairly busy road. Maintenance has been an issue in the past, but this visit found things tidy. The old fence, not so much....

A harsh climate creates harsh people. Discontented inhabitants of the Northern lands, tired of the oppression of the king from the South, which not only does not give them conditions for a decent life, but also prevents them from developing life in their lands as they want, decide that they do not need such power and plot a campaign aimed at overthrowing the usurper.
Our AirBnB host had slipped a page into the guest book saying "My favorite place to stargaze in the desert is a plot of land out in the middle of Wonder Valley. I call it the Star Box. It's far from light pollution and you'll be all alone out there. Venmo $25 for access to the land. I do not take responsibility for nails or glass in tires. Arrive before sunset or you'll never find the place." The tire thing worried us, but we paid up, got the coords, and checked it out in daylight - soft sand road, but seemed fine. It was indeed magical - I hadn't seen a sky this big before - free of obstructions in every direction, ringed by distant mountains all the way around, a totally enveloping experience. I'd expected the temps to drop with nightfall, but a warm wind persisted. We ate pizza and watched the North Star appear, then watched as cosmos lit up. The downside of the location for astro photography is that there were no landmarks, so there's nothing to include (skies with stars and nothing else are boring). But we had fun doing some light painting in the desert while we waited for the full star show. Amazing evening.
You see the look of concentration in his face. This is due to the fact he just hatched this sinister plot to play a trick on his food competitor, the Blue Jay, by hollowing out the peanut and making off with the actual contents but leaving the empty shell in place. He waits nearby and when a Jay falls for this by pulling the empty shell out of the green slinky, he starts laughing his head off. This is where his name comes from - Nuthatch – hatching sinister plots involving nuts. Ok, I won’t lie to you – hatch is related to hack – hacking at nuts wedged in crevices or green slinky like contraptions. But I like my word derivation better.
And this of course, brings us back to sinister plots. (WARNING: this is a rant and has nothing to do with the image)
Has anyone noticed that the price of gas at the pump is basically back to what it was before the price of oil began to tank. Well, you may think it’s because the oil companies finally paid attention to motorists who were loudly complaining that this cheap gas was raising havoc with their engines. (Remember here that the connection is that quality is directly related to price – the higher the price, the higher the quality and vice versa). Hmm, since when have oil companies ever listened to the average consumer? Exactly, never. So, I am sharing the real reason for this increase in price with you. Remember my two recent trips to Elk Island Park in my beat down old truck? Yes, you guessed it. Apparently, these trips of mine increased demand for gasoline so tremendously that prices had to go up in response to this shortage caused by my barreling down the highway. I would have been the last to think that I could single-handedly help out the economy this way. Ahh yes, so very proud. You are welcome!
So, I am left wondering, am I listening to an echo or are they playing the same old refrain (my initial word selection did not use refrain but I want to maintain my family rating; it starts with an s and ends in a t and there are two more letters in-between) over and over, thinking we won’t recognize the tune. Summer – gas price high – Winter - gas price low and it does not seem to matter one iota where the price of oil is at.
