This used to be a platform from where people could sit and enjoy a good view of the sea. Over the last couple of years, the sea has come inland, inundating/submerging many such structures. This is a closeup of the earlier photo.

The carriage shop on platform 1 at Horsted Keynes has been in place for many years raising funds for the Bluebell Railway but was closing down this being the last weekend, all books were half marked price.
The coach is to be scrapped with the bogies saved for reuse and sales will move to a luggage van next to platform 5.
