This is the most northern part of the station under construction, the back entrance as seen from track 17, in eastern direction. At your right is an old platform waiting to be demolished to make place for a modern one. We see the backsides of some beautiful houses on Proveniersstraat (street).
Platform 1 at Bury St. Edmunds is served by trains from Ipswich. With Stowmarket 14.5 miles away by rail and Ely 24.5 miles and also Cambridge 29.75 miles away by rail why is Platform 1 not facing London by the quickest route?
Because of rebuilding work, platform 4 was not in use so the Worth Valley trains were using platform 3 when we visited.
Situated on Marine Road Central, Morecambe, PLATFORM is the former Promenade railway station and was pictured on June 25th 2011.
I love the deco style of Flinders St Station, I hope they never change the pink tiles and signs.

My first visit to Yokohama Station, where I transferred from the Keikyu Main Line (from Yokosuka) for the JR Shonan Shinjuku Line in order to get to Shinjuku to change trains for Tobitakyu via the Keio Line.

To save money, the less complex stations of the Hiawatha Line were built long enough to only handle 2-car trains, with space reserved to easily extend the platforms. I don't think they anticipated the need to extend them this soon, 5 years after opening. It would have been nice if they had built it right from the start, but no doubt they were limited by the funding.
