Day 44: Here I am again, doing another sequential pics...don't know why I like these so much other than instead of capturing just one moment in time, I'm capturing a series of related moments...I suppose I should just get into film if that's what I'm interested in, but oh well ;)
The inspiration for this portrait actually came from a series done by one of the Suicide Girls on their website...I'll see if I can dig up a link, however, it won't do you much good unless you have an account there. I find society's standards of beauty lacking...if you're not 5'10", weight 120 lbs, have blonde hair and blue eyes, you aren't pretty....I think that's crap. I'm never going to weigh 120 lbs...just ain't gonna happen, and, if it did, I would be malnutritioned. It irritates me that the media sets us up for such disappointment in ourselves...we see these impossible standards (cuz even the models get airbrushed) in magazines, movies, and on TV and wonder why we don't look like that and then we start to think that it's NOT ok that we don't look like that. It's taken me many years to get to the point where I'm comfortable with my body...sure, I've got lumps and bumps and chubby rolls, but I'm healthy and that's what's important.
OK, I've been a bit ranty lately, haven't I? Sorry about that! lol

The incision
Incisions are made in inconspicuous areas to minimize visible scarring. You and your plastic surgeon will discuss which incision options are appropriate for your desired outcome. Incision options include: along the areolar edge (peri-areolar incision), the fold under the breast (inframammary fold) and in the armpit (axillary incision). A belly-button approach is associated with a higher complication rate.
Inserting and placing the breast implant After the incision is made, a breast implant is inserted into a pocket either.
-Under the pectoral muscle (a submuscular placement) - Directly behind the breast tissue, over the pectoral muscle (a submammary/subglandular placement)
Closing the incisions
Incisions are closed with layered sutures in the breast tissue and with sutures, skin adhesive or surgical tape to close the skin.
