The Chapel of the Holy Trinity was built from an unusual material in 1915-1917. It belongs to the style of the man-made caves and built with the slag, which was a by-product from the former Rothauer ironworks.
The pastor of lead town Georg Marck and the plasterer Joseph Fischer took part in the construction work. Unfortunately, Joseph Fischer was taken to the front, but even under these circumstances he worked on the completion of the chapel. But he did not see the finished work because he fell near Tarnopol on September 28, 1915.

I made this Kraken Octopus beastie as a 'floating installation' allaboardfest.co.uk and for its associated art exhibition All Washed Up.
I used skip-rescued chickenwire, old curtain-lining fabric from work earlier in the year, old leftover PVA from a plasterer, and a pile of aged paint sample pots donated from friends. Oh, and CDs for the eyes, milk bottle-tops for the suckers! Nearly got trench hand, from hours of soggy 'fabric mache' work in the hot sun!!

Hopetoun House is one of Scotland's largest and most distinguished historic houses. Home of the Hope family, marquesses of Linlithgow, it has been now owned by the Hopetoun House Preservation Trust since 1974. The house was designed by Sir William Bruce and built between 1699 and 1707. It was enlarged by William Adam between 1721 and 1752 and its interiors were completed by his sons, John and Robert. This photograph is of the centrepiece of the splendid coved ceiling of the Red Drawing Room, one of the state apartments. Executed by John Dawson, a Scottish plasterer, it is considered to be one of the finest examples of Rococo decoration in Scotland.

Actually, that's unfair. They were nice guys, but I suspect not so used to very ancient ceilings like ours. The insurance sent them to do our damp ceiling, but the noise and destructiveness of the process made them feel like invaders.

Clandon Park House is an early 18th-century grade I listed Palladian mansion in West Clandon, near Guildford in Surrey.[1]
It stands in the south east corner of Clandon Park, a 220-hectare (540-acre) agricultural parkland estate which has been the seat of the Earls of Onslow for over two centuries. The house and gardens were given to the National Trust in 1956,[2] but the park remains in private ownership.[3] Some of the house's contents have also been acquired by the Trust in lieu of estate duty.[4]
Construction of the house, designed by Italian architect Giacomo Leoni, began about 1730, and the interiors were finished by continental sculptors and plasterers in the 1740s. It replaced an Elizabethan house. The park was landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in 1781, and there are two formal gardens on either side of the house. Nearby is a Māori meeting house, one of only four outside New Zealand, that was brought to England in the late 19th century. After being transferred to the National Trust, the house underwent restoration before it was opened to the public, and later became a wedding venue and filming location for period dramas.
The house was badly damaged by fire in April 2015, probably caused by an electrical fault in the basement, leaving it "essentially a shell", with only one room, the Speaker's Parlour, intact. Thousands of historic artefacts, paintings, and items of furniture were lost in what has been described as a national tragedy. In January 2016, the National Trust announced that some of the principal rooms on the ground floor would be fully restored to the original 18th-century designs, and upper floors will be used for exhibitions and events.
