If you look closely, you can see the first radish leaves peeking out of the soil, only five days after we planted the seeds. The larger plants are four marigolds and two green pepper plants.

If you have two pallets and a free day, you could have two Pallet Herb Planter Boxes! You can also put them on wheels. I made two of these simple planter boxes on wheels for my fiance.
How to build Pallet Herb Planter Boxes:
It took a day and about two pallets. I assembled them with simple butt-joints and then sanded the rough edges down. I didn't need them perfect. I wanted a rustic look. You can also line these with food-safe liners to prevent water leaking out.

this was made for jeni to grow some vegetables in. this was by far the most thoroughly planned project i've done this summer, taking the time to pick out good lumber, going into greatly detailed measurements, and constant adjustments and fine tuning. This was my first attempt at making something with mitered corners, too, so that was fun.
It's 3' x 2' x 2'. Made from salvaged lumber, wood screws, and brad pins.

Construction Complete, with the very last of my fake woodgrain contact paper yet to be applied. I am all out now!

A view of the planter box I planted a week ago. All of the plants are thriving, growing and blooming. I love seeing them the first thing in the morning. They are the perfect way to start a day. : )
