Old Botanical Garden, Planten un Blomen, Hamburg, Germany.
Hamburg; Besuch im Botanischen Garten "Planten un Blomen" übersetzt ins Hochdeutsch "Pflanzen und Blumen". Eine sehr schöne Parkanlage inmitten der Stadt Hamburg. Sie ist ein "muss ich unbedingt hin" wenn man einen Hamburgbesuch plant.

Hamburg; Visit to the Botanical Garden "Planten un Blomen" translated into High German "Plants and Flowers". A very beautiful park in the middle of the city of Hamburg. It is a "must see" if you plan a visit to Hamburg.

Hambourg ; Visite du jardin botanique "Planten un Blomen" traduit en haut allemand "Plantes et fleurs". Un très beau parc au milieu de la ville de Hambourg. C'est un "must see" si vous prévoyez une visite à Hambourg.

While flipping through my archive in search of a cheerful photo to ring in the weekend, I stumbled upon this mallard beauty queen. When I saw her at Planten un Blomen, a lovely park in central Hamburg, posing so nicely on a rock at a small pond, I knew I had to take her photo. Isn't she pretty? I could swear that she was smiling at me :)

Mitten im Herzen der Stadt, umgeben von Einkaufsmeilen, Congress-Centrum, Messegelände und St. Pauli liegt "Planten un Blomen".
Hier das Japanisches Teehaus und im Hintergrund der Fernsehturm
ein schöner Tag mit Christina
Drosera capensis "Red" -
Sonnentau fasziniert durch seine aktiven, mit Tentakel besetzten Blätter. Kleine Fluginsekten werden durch die tauähnlichen, klebrigen Tropfen angelockt und nicht mehr losgelassen. Das Blatt beginnt dann, sich um das Insekt zu schlingen und es zu verdauen. Es ist jedes Mal ein ebenso verblüffendes, wie makabres Naturschauspiel.
Drosera capensis "Red" -
Sundew fascinated by its active, occupied with tentacles leaves. Small flying insects are attracted by the tauähnlichen, sticky drops and never let go. The blade then begins to wrap around the insect and to digest it. There is an equally amazing how macabre spectacle every time.

I am at a loss regarding captions...
Shot with my manual Tamron standard zoom lens (@f/11) adapted to an EOS 70D on my way to work.
I needed to be quick (open the aperture, achieve focus confirmation, stop down again to gain dof) and therefore did not manage to frame the picture thus, that the reflection of the crossing person is in the picture too.
Thanked be the dawning spring that illuminates my mornings again. :-)

As some of you recognized I come up these days with a season series.
Gulls in the winter without snow - we had no snow in Hamburg last winter;
A crocus in spring
And now a photo taken at nice summer weather in June, but with a lot of water falling down - representing our weather in July. ;-)
But today the sun is shining and we will get 26°C - yeah, summer is back! Okay, just for one day. and there are some clouds and maybe we will get some rain... ;-)
