This Rement orange top...I think Misa is the first to wear it after putting aside for a long long time..... :p
This Amtrak in the foreground represents leg 2 (of 4!) of my goofiest trip via Amtrak in a good, long while.
I was supposed to take Amtrak 4 from KC-Naperville, buuuuut it was running late, so I rescheduled for the River Runner via StL. From there, I continued north to the spartan Summit (seen here), IL station, Ubered to Berwyn, then hopped on Metra train 2029 back to my original destination.
Just shy of 12 hours after leaving KCUS I arrived at my car, and of course, I ended up passing said train no. 4 along the Racetrack anyway, so it was all for naught, but was it? I wasn't interested in testing out the mantra of "Late trains get later," and I got a fun trip out of the deal.
I would love to get the male close up like this!
We are currently in the rainforest in FNQ surrounded by bird photography opportunities. I couldn't wait to post a couple of shots but I plan to spend most of my time shooting rather than editing and uploading. It's a great place to improve my flash photography, it needs it.
Thanks for the views, faves and comments, much appreciated.
Fellow photographer and Battenkill Superfan Ken Karlewicz chats with the boss as plans are made for the day ahead.
A great Halloween doesn't just happen, it takes planning. Meet the planning committee.
Vera Florentine Neo and Nellie Nibbles Middie. The Jiji cat figurines are from the movie "Kiki's Delivery Service".
I took the original photo of the Amish Buggy in the snowstorm. I might upload it one day. Just fooling around with textures for now.
Today was a day to make some time going east. I was not going to make it a complete travel day, and since 2006 was the last time I had really checked out the Iowa Interstate, I thought a day following train CBBI,(Council Bluffs-Blue Island), would fit perfect for the day. Departing at night from CB it would be early in Des Moise, so, if I get my lazy ass out of bed early enough from a local motel, I could get a few pics in before hitting the road. II did not disappoint. Lucky for me the heritage Rock Island unit would be in the lead. Now as most of you know, I am not one to go out of my way to shoot "big uglies", (modern EMD/GE's), but I always thought the II's paint scheme looked rather sharp on the "uglies". So, I cut them some slack. I really didn't expect the RI unit, so it made it all the better. Although most time when rail fanning, you can't have it all,(the weather still was not cooperating), you have to take what you can get. I must say, this was a nice "get" for the last train of the trip. I chased from Altoona, Iowa to Amana, then highballed for Cleavland!
II CBBI east through Kellogg, IA
As usual, I tried a few different subjects for the Macro Mondays group theme, Anachronism, and this was my Plan B. It's a brass box for holding shirt studs, which I don't think many people use these days, and dates from around the 1920s. I found this one at the Lewes Antiques Flea Market recently.
I finally ordered a Byul Hermine, and she came last week! I love her outfit so much, and her brown and seafoamy color palette. But I didn't like her default wig so I changed it.
Sunday I had hoped to spend a leisurely day chasing Pan Am Railways' water train. My plan fell apart by late morning when I heard them getting ready to tie the train down east of Rigby. I was heading for home when I heard DJPO (Danville Junction to Portland) call a stop signal at Royal Junction in Yarmouth. As a part of ongoing infrastructure improvements associated with the Amtrak Downeaster service contractors are in the process of grading roughly 4 miles of second track to be reinstalled from Royal west into Falmouth. The construction has helped open up some shots that haven't been possible for many years. With a pair of buffer cars and a load of anhydrous ammonia from the Saint Lawrence & Atlantic interchange the local is approaching Cumberland Center. Many years ago this location was known as Cumberland Junction, the original junction of the Maine Central Railroad "Back Road" and the "Lower Road". A 6 mile plus realignment of the Back Road resulted in Royal Junction, where the lines currently connect. This was one of a couple realignments in the immediate area, the other one being in New Gloucester.

I bought a porcelain figurine on eBay from France. To my pleasant surprise, the parcel arrived quite quickly and very well-packed. The figurine survived the trans-Atlantic journey all intact.
It's not the first time that I've received a parcel from France or Italy fully covered in stamps. I think I'd keep the box just for the stamps. Too bad that someone decided to cancel the stamps with a marker instead of proper postal cancellations.
I have a lot of ideas bouncing around in my head all at once. In fact, I’m actually diagnosed with ADHD, and this constant scatterbrainedness can make it difficult for me to complete long-term projects and assignments in an organized manner. Therefore, I’d like to ask you guys’ input on what kind of figures you’d like to see next! The school year is winding down, and once I’m done with finals, it’ll be 50 hr work weeks with 3-4 hours of MCAT study in the evenings. So I’ll need to be very careful with my time if I want to continue building over the summer.
Here are some of my ‘bouncing’ ideas, and if you have any of your own that you don’t see on this list, let me know in the comments!

5. Super-Family
6. Bat-Family, and/or generally a greater focus on Batman
7. Priest’s current Deathstroke run
8. "Generations” (spoiler, it’s all the incarnations of the Teen Titans/Titans, this one would take a while)
9. Justice League International
10. Suicide Squad (this one’s for you, Adam)
11. Summer landscape/cityscape photography
12. Nudes
