My apologies for the inadvertent ad that goes with this photo, but I enjoyed the clouds enough to post this. This was taken in Vancouver, BC on July 12 2016.

Hand planes are one of those things I never really got the hang of. Didn't know how to sharpen them, how to adjust them, and never had any success using one. Read some good tips in "Handplane essentials" by Christopher Schwartz, got my iron sharpened, flattened the sole, and this is the result. This is literally the first time I've gotten nice curls of shavings from planing.

There really isn't a great deal to recommend this photo, but I just wanted a picture of this enormous aircraft - the one that took us to the far east - on my blog.

“Undulating planes of pattern and color that drift back and forth creating a syncopated rhythm with the traffic rushing by.”
Artist Almond Zigmund’s work strives to sharpen our perceptions of space while exploring the nature of opposition. Combining crisp geometry, vivid color, and intricate patterns, her drawings, sculptures, and installations reference aspects of the built environment.
