My high school era charm bracelet. The bokeh is in-camera, but the tree-branch effect is from pixlr express.
Original is a shot of orange dailyness against a white wall. My plan was to layer the shots to tone down the white wall, and then erase the rest of the duplicate. But, you never know what you'll get with layering an image over itself. This time, I flipped my shot (horizontally, but it works vertically, too), then I layered the flipped shot over the original at about 50%. Sometimes, it's nothing, but often a nice abstract results. And close to St. Pat's Day, I guess you get a leprechaun - totally unplanned. lol! Happy sliding serendipity!
Cruising southbound down the Swinomish Channel, WA, at low tide. Could just see the tops of buildings, but the Cascade Mountains were really clear.
The blues of the water and sky were so washed out that I decided to do this in mono. Someone said these were Italian cypress trees, but I don't know. They're along Swinomish Channel near La Conner, WA.
I took several shots for Macro Mondays theme of "opposites." I really wanted to use separate and together but had trouble getting a macro. I ended up liking two, so there's one in color for MM and this one in mono for Monochrome Bokeh Thursday. HMBT!
Taken at Camp Harkness. There used to be several older horses and other animals at the barns here, but a couple of years ago when I got back from a trip, they were gone. Not sure what happened - perhaps it got too expensive or there weren't enough volunteers?
Advice from a rabbit:
Be a good listener. Eat plenty of greens. Let your dreams multiply. Hop to it! Know when to be still. Spend time in nature.

For Macro Mondays theme: flowers in black and white
I really couldn't decide whether to post this original version [original except for b/w conversion and square crop] or one I softened in iPiccy. The softened photo looked prettier to me, but this version seemed more "true" to the flower. I finally chose this one for the MM group, but the soft one is my previous post -

The petals of these flowers really do look and feel like straw - shiny, hard, and somewhat crisp. I had often seen them in dried flower arrangements and bouquets in the fall and assumed their texture came from being dried. However, this nursery plant shows that their texture is natural - the flowers have the dried feel and appearance even as they bloom and grow. Interesting!
Lost - yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered, for they are gone forever.

This is Seymour, mascot of the Washington State Museum in Tacoma, WA. He was in the donation box when we were there, but travels around the state and to other museums encouraging people to "see more." I think he's actually a marmot and not a woodchuck/groundhog - but that's close enough, right!
Sometimes, you just get lucky. I filled my water bottle and noticed all the bubbles. I set the bottle on the window sill and took a shot. I liked it when it was blue, but changing it to mono made me really like it!
Advice from a bee:
Create a buzz. Sip life's sweet moments. Mind your own beeswax. Work together. Always find your way home. Stick close to your honey. Bee yourself!

Sometimes you just get carried away, and keep adding and adding and adding. Usually when I do that, the image ends up looking "muddy" so I delete and start over. But I like this one. Originally intended for Fence Friday, so that's a cement fence in the background - three and a half stiles leading into a cement column (the darker area on the right.)
It wasn't a jittery situation - I was just a bit bored, so started taking pictures. Later, I used two of my shots taken from slightly different angles, cropped them square, then laid one over the other in pixlrexpress.
This was late afternoon, about half an hour before sunset, on a very cloudy day. The light spot isn't the sun or moon, just a bit of lighter sky poking through the trees. Also, it wasn't quite this dark - I wanted to mute and blend the colors, so I added a sepia effect at 50% from pixlr express (see tags for more processing info).
This was taken back 15y or more ago with my n80 (i was out with my sister Kelley just starting out in photography), film camera. I found it amongst some other files and edited it. this is probably one of my first photos ever taken, the file size is so small that it will probably only be good for web view only, unfortunate too, bc I really like how it turned out!
Seen from the window of Cutters Crabhouse. Processed with JixiPix moku hanga - strong color, overlaid with pixlr express effect - gram at 50%.
While boating last spring, we stopped at Bell Harbor in Seattle. On our way out into Puget Sound, we passed these grain towers - of course, making me think of Patti - Jayhawk Explorer! We were too far away in hazy early morning light for me to get a good shot. So I did what I always do with my less than crisp and dull-colored photos. I waited for Sliders Sunday! I used JixiPix Spektrel for the lined effect and pixlrexpress for the toning (see tags). Hope everyone has a good week.
