I started using a piece of anti newton ring glass on top of an open enlarger negative carrier and it seems to give the best result yet for film flatness. The glass does introduce a little extra dust. I will have to try medium format this way soon as it suffers more from the flatness issue.

A quiet stretch of the Cullasaja River. This part of the mountains nearly qualifies as temperate rain forest.

A lovely and thoughtful Christmas gift from my mum this year. She took one of my images I took of the steam locomotive 3642 passing through the Blue Mountains and turned it into a Jigsaw via the company 'Wentworth Wooden Puzzles'!

The pieces are made of wood and smell absolutely delightful, a real treasure to keep indeed. Some of the pieces are even cut into 'xmassy' shapes hehe :D

Clear Creek wash, Zion National Park. My last image from day 1 of our 3-day swing through the park. A sunlit wall a few yards behind the camera provides strong reflected light into the scene. The beauty of this kind of reflected light is not just the warm color, but also the shape, direction, and softness of it.

Pentax K-1 with Mirex tilt/shift adapter and Pentax-A 645 55/2.8 lens. I used a bit of tilt for Scheimpflug focusing. Pixel-shift resolution image converted from raw in Iridient Developer.

This is the first slide that the Pentax K-1 struggled with regarding dynamic range, though I like the result. May need to look into enabling the HDR mode or manually combining different exposures for these type of shots, but they are rare - I think it's the combination of sunny snow and shaded lantern that caused it.

I liked the look of the border so I left it in on this one, at the moment I am using plastic slide mounts, as the glass enlarger negative carrier I tried was causing newton rings as well as having a few scratches. Even without perfect film flatness, the f/10 aperture seems to give enough depth of field. But I will try a glassless enlarger negative carrier next so I don't have to keep cutting and mounting each frame.
