Probably the most well-known cliché shot from any Open House London, this is something I've wanted to see for 4 years now - but never made it until this Sunday. The atrium is within the Allen & Overy offices in One Bishops Square. The balls stretch up several floors and change colours, shortly after getting the nice reds it all went white until we'd left.

I will often let Google's AI stich a panorama for me vs. using the feature in my Pixel 6 Pro. This is 10 frames shot horizontally that came back as above that I then did a minor edit in ACDSee.

Watch the Video from that evenings final pics of Sunset & Mammatus Clouds from August 13, 2019 on Flickr Click Here
We had a long drive back to home! Behind the storm that afternoon was a full lit sky of mammatus cloud. We had to wait for the sun to peek out behind the clouds but that is when the real magic happened. The sky at dusk was simply epic!
An experienced... storm chaser knows that after the storm is one of the most photogenic parts of the storm. Some of the best shots I've ever taken have been on the backside of a thunderstorm. I call them Thundersets!
Now...if your not a storm chaser and one is patient enough to wait for the base of the storm to move with the limits of the sunset light. Special things can happen, have your camera ready there is always some magic happening!
This was that experience. There is no place like Nebraska!

As I get better at editing my photos, I like to go back to some of the older images, that I think I can finally do some justice to and rework them.
This is one of the very first photos I created with my Fujifilm X-T30. I had just gotten finished unboxing the camera, when I looked out the window and saw this gentleman sitting by the pond and playing his guitar. He was kind enough to let me take his photo.

I used Processing 3.3.6 and ASDF PixelSort and the result was achieved more by luck than judgement :-)

Dark supercell storm clouds gather ominously over a vast, open field, creating a dramatic contrast with the green landscape. In the distance, a tractor is visible, adding a sense of scale and human presence to the expansive rural scene.

Now and again I do shoot normal pictures at normal times of the day, without ambushing passersby or waving flashlights around. This is one of them.
It's an early morning view of the Logarska Dolina valley. The buildings to the far left are the Lenar Tourist Farm, which I've recommended before and will do again. The main bed in the apartment we stayed in looks straight out onto these mountains, and - though it was six in the morning - having seen them in this light I couldn't go back to sleep.
This frame is a daylight version of this night view shot last summer. Only, whilst the summer shot had flowers in the meadows, the trees are only just coming into leaf here.
I've pushed pixels around a little - lifting the foreground shadow, and pulling down the sky. Even so, I wonder if this is really a shot for late afternoon - the postcards I see of the place are all shot then, with the light coming in from the right, bringing some more contrast and warmth over the lower slopes and valley floor. Nonetheless, even if the valley floor lacks a little punch in this light, I do like the bright, morning glow on the crags of rock.
I listened recently to an interview with Kenneth Parker, talking about the difference in light between morning and evening time. He describes the lack of dust and haze, and the fresh feel of early morning light compared to sunset. I'm not sure I shot it perfectly, but being out in the crisp morning watching the light play across this scene crystalised his words. Lesson learned - I need to head out early more often!
Hope everyone is having a great week; catching up now.

Late July 2023...
This month of storms was just down right jaw dropping. Why not continue since we didn't have any storms in May or June! Overtime for July is the way I like it!
90% of the time of year in South Central Nebraska is Hot & Humid. It is normally the beginning of our dry season. But not in 2023.
In the path of the Jet Stream that day that forced some severe thunderstorm development over south central Nebraska. We were not excepting anything super severe but a tornado or 2 is always possible this time of year.
Gear Primed & excited about the views I'm going to get for this event that day. I knew they were going to be photogenic.

It has been an excellent start to the 2016 chase Season. Bonus was, that I had the day off and no commitments except for storm chasing. I was set for an Epic Day!
I ended up with well over 700 pic from this storm chasing event, but I've skimmed it down to about 100+. Truly this will become some of my best severe weather photography to date...
I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had now positioned myself just to the North of Wray Colorado.
Strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... It's all about timing, and I thought it wouldn't produce till it was well west of my location. Giving me that perfect view of the backside rotation of the storm.
In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.

Humid and the mosquitoes were eating me alive...
I wouldn't have to chase this evening to catch some incredible Nebraska views of this supercell that formed just to the north of Hastings Nebraska. The perfect sunlight cresting against this storm cell was perfect in every way. I knew I was in for a treat. Just a few blocks from home I set up shop!
We had a dying cell to our west creating a beautiful sunset and I would eventually get a few snaps of this. Though was pointing due east from my location on the outskirts of Kearney Nebraska. It had all of my attention. 4 Cameras in position for this event. Pointing due east I was watching these billowing thunderheads on the updraft and it was a sight to see.
I also knew then that this was going to produce come incredible lighting after dark. I was prepared and ready!

Our Severe Weather seasons is coming to a close. One last severe weather setup and it would be worth our time to chase.
Now just to the north of Holdrege via Hwy 181. Now to intercept this storm once again which now had a really good hook on radar.
Though this storm didn't produce another tornado we got right underneath the rotating base of this storm. Close but no cigar...

On the right hand side of the river, which is East, one can see evidence of the horrendous wildfire called Holiday Farm/McKenzie Fire. Looks like some charring on the left side (West) too, just not as bad in this particular spot. Thousands of acres are still not under complete containment as I write this (morning of October 6, 2020, and the fire started September 9th, (Labor Day).
The *soul* of this for Dave C. and other Flickr friends too, is my daughter and granddaughter lost their home miles west of this spot, and a friend completely lost her home a very short distance (almost shouting distance) east of this river.
