With all the tourists gone, I was able to get a few interesting shots without being shoved away along the Nonbei Yokocho alleyway in Shinjuku. This alley, otherwise known as Piss Alley, is a row of little hole-in-the-wall restaurants.
Nestled amongst the buildings of East Tokyo in Shinjuku is a series of alleys known by the names Piss Alley (小便横丁), Memory Lane (Omoide Yokocho (思い出横丁), or (more commonly) Yakitori Alley.
My Blade Runner adoring heart could barely contain itself when I first turned the corner and entered this incredible area of Shinjuku.

Last night I finally met a long time Internet Friend (before Flickr even) from France in Shinjuku for an evening of photos and fun. We had a good time and talked about our experiences with Japan, the culture, language, etc. while having a beer and enjoying some Yakitori.
Since I have arrived here in Japan, life has been sooooo busy, but I think I have settled into a routine of sorts, so life is normalizing for me. =)
Currently Listening:
Omoide Yokocho - Piss Alley - Tokyo, Japan.
Customer waiting for his yakitori or skewered meat at Bar Albatross in the drinking alley of Omoide Yokocho. This cramped space by the train tracks of Shinjuku is filled with closet-sized bars and restaurants. It used to be a black-market drinking quarter in the 1940's and was called Piss Alley from its lack of toilet facilities which compelled drunk patrons to relieve themselves against the train tracks.

This was taken in my first night in Tokyo. Omoide Yokocho is such a great place to check out especially if this is your first time in Tokyo. You can see locals or tourists drinking in these small bars. You have the chances to talk with people you don't know. The food and drinks there aren't the cheapest (in fact a bit expensive); but the atmosphere is pretty unique. I highly recommend trying it once :)
This shot interested me a lot because of the guy on the right. He was very drunk at that time and he was shocked that his friends ordered more drinks. I guess that night didn't end well for him :P
