Mustelus mustelus, conosciuto comunemente come pesce palombo, in siciliano "Pisci Palummu",

Sea , life , light
Part 3 of the serie of the hundred islands in the Philippines.
And so, after relaxing and swimming , I had the time to look for another kind of picture then the usual touristical photo.
While walking at the beach there, thinking to mystelf what to do, where to go?
Because it is rather difficult to find another attraction then the usual view to the islands.
And then I saw it. There were so many fishes in the sea, and there were spots near the island with nice light and shadowplay.
So I searched and found this little spot, half hidden under a wooden walkway near the shore, full of fish. Here's the result: Sea , life , light
...es un campo de arena.

"Capricornus is one of the 88 modern constellations, and was also one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy. Under its modern boundaries it is bordered by Aquila, Sagittarius, Microscopium, Piscis Austrinus, and Aquarius. The constellation is located in an area of sky called the Sea or the Water, consisting of many water-related constellations such as Aquarius, Pisces and Eridanus. It is the smallest constellation in the zodiac."
Happy to provide more information for anything you see in my images.
A bright star caught my eye at dusk looking south from the back door of my house tonight.
At first I thought it must be Sirius, but learnt that it's in fact Fomalhaut, which I hadn't heard of before.
So then I researched it and learnt that it's in the constellation Piscis Austrinus, also known as the Southern Fish.
It's about 400 million years old, which is much younger than the Sun's age of 4.6 billion years and is 15 times brighter and much hotter with a temperature of 8,590 K.
Moonbeams, Milky Way and meteors! From the first few minutes my camera was running on the peak night of the Perseid meteor shower.
I'll have some time-lapse footage available shortly.
It is typical and expected to see and capture non-Perseid meteors in these types of shots. In addition to the Perseids, there were also meteors coming from the North delta Aquarids, South delta Aquarids, South Iota Aquarids, Piscis Austrinids, alpha Capricornids and sigma Capricornids, kappa Cygnids, all active on the same night. And those are just the active pre-identified showers with radiant points named and located on the Starwalk app; there are also sporadic meteors, with no named radiant.

“The vesica piscis is a type of lens, a mathematical shape formed by the intersection of two disks with the same radius, intersecting in such a way that the center of each disk lies on the perimeter of the other.[1] In Latin, "vesica piscis" literally means "bladder of a fish", reflecting the shape's resemblance to the conjoined dual air bladders (swim bladder) found in most fish.[2] In Italian, the shape's name is mandorla ("almond").[3] A similar shape in three dimensions is the lemon.
The vesica piscis in Euclid's Elements
This figure appears in the first proposition of Euclid's Elements, where it forms the first step in constructing an equilateral triangle using a compass and straightedge. The triangle has as its vertices the two disk centers and one of the two sharp corners of the vesica piscis.[4]
Mathematical description
Mathematically, the vesica piscis is a special case of a lens, the shape formed by the intersection of two disks.”

On a road trip out west with my son, we stopped at this waterfall in Ohio... kinda unusual because at certain times of the year when the water flow is right, the falls splits into two and then rejoins... forming a kind of womb of the "supernatural mother"... a mandorla... mystic almond... from which the Vesica Piscis, or the Vessel of the Fish, also appears when two perfect circles intersect... the co joining of the sun and the full moon. Ok, ok, enough of the mysticism... lol
Anyway this is a photo of my son in front of that waterfall.
I hope the builders of this wooden wonder had fun putting up their little structure on Seven Mile Beach near Gerroa, Australia. The steeple of sticks served as an interesting foreground feature for this photo of the Milky Way suspended in the cloudless sky last Friday night. As noted in a few recent posts, I visited the beach to try to capture shots of meteors that were part of the Piscis Austrinids, Southern Delta Aquariids or Alpha Capracornids showers around this date.
Knowing that photographing meteors is a hit-and-miss proposition, I made sure to get photos of a few other night sky features, including the megastructure that is the Milky Way’s galactic core and central band, so I wouldn’t go home empty-handed. The bright glow on the horizon on the left of the photo is light spilling from the regional city of Nowra, 19 km (11.8 miles)distant.
I captured this single-frame photo with my Canon EOS R camera, fitted with a Canon RF 16 mm f/2.8 lens @ f4.0 using an exposure time of 30 seconds @ ISO 6400.

Please do not panic about any voices mentioned here above.

This image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope reveals tendrils of dark dust threading across the heart of the spiral galaxy NGC 7172. The galaxy lies approximately 110 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Piscis Austrinus. The lane of dust threading its way across NGC 7172 is obscuring the luminous heart of the galaxy, making NGC 7172 appear to be nothing more than a normal spiral galaxy viewed from the side.
When astronomers inspected NGC 7172 across the electromagnetic spectrum they quickly discovered that there was more to it than meets the eye: NGC 7172 is a Seyfert galaxy – a type of galaxy with an intensely luminous active galactic nucleus powered by matter accreting onto a supermassive black hole.
This image combines data from two sets of Hubble observations, both proposed to study nearby active galactic nuclei. The image also combines data from two instruments -– Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys and Wide Field Camera 3.

La sciorta
canti tradizionali, raccolti nel 1983 dalla voce di Alessio Malzone, Agnone.
Quanno nascietti io nascietti a mare
nascietti tra li Barbari e li Mori
'na zèngara me puòzzi adduvenare
Figlio, ara truvà nu gran tesoro
Pigliai la zappa e me mettietti a scavare
nù truvai nè argiento nè oro
che me puozzi rece chera zèngara cana
chi nasce afflitto scunsulato more Verietti la Sciorta mia mmiezo lo mare
'ncoppa nu nìuro scuòglia ca chiangìa
tanto re lu chiantu e lacrimare
puro li pisci lacrimar facìa
e fui costretto ra l'addumannare:
"Furtuna, appecchè chiangi a' 'sta manera ?"
tanto dal singhiozzar nun rispunnìa:
"Songo la Sciorta toa" pare ca ricìa.

Quando nacqui … io nacqui a mare
Nacqui tra i Barbari ed i Mori
Una zingara mi predisse
“Figlio, devi trovare un grande tesoro”
Presi la zappa e mi misi a scavare
Non trovai né argento né oro
“Cosa diamine mi disse quella zingara maledetta
Chi nasce afflitto muore senza alcun conforto”
…………
Vidi la fortuna mia in mezzo al mare
Sopra uno scoglio nero che piangeva
Tanto piangeva a dirotto
Che anche i pesci faceva lacrimare
E mi trovai costretto a chiederle
“Fortuna, perché piangi in questo modo?”
Tanto che singhiozzava non riusciva a rispondere
“Sono la tua fortuna” sembrava che dicesse

Translation performed by the translator of google. I apologize for the imperfections
When I was born ... I was born at sea
I was born among barbarians and Moors
I predicted a gypsy
"Son, you need to find a great treasure"
I took the hoe and I started to dig
I found neither silver nor gold
"What the hell said that gypsy curse
Those born afflicted die without comfort "
... ... ... ...
I saw my fortune in the sea
On a black rock crying
Both wept bitterly
Fish that brought tears
And I found myself forced to ask
"Good luck, so why are you crying?"
So much so that he could not answer sobbing
"I'm your luck" seemed to be saying
Astronomers used NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to image the warm dust around a nearby young star, Fomalhaut, in order to study the first asteroid belt ever seen outside of our solar system in infrared light. But to their surprise, the dusty structures are much more complex than the asteroid and Kuiper dust belts of our solar system. Overall, there are three nested belts extending out to 14 billion miles (23 billion kilometers) from the star; that’s 150 times the distance of Earth from the Sun. The scale of the outermost belt is roughly twice the scale of our solar system’s Kuiper Belt of small bodies and cold dust beyond Neptune. The inner belts – which had never been seen before – were revealed by Webb for the first time.
The belts encircle the young hot star, which can be seen with the naked eye as the brightest star in the southern constellation Piscis Austrinus. The dusty belts are the debris from collisions of larger bodies, analogous to asteroids and comets, and are frequently described as ‘debris disks.’

Italy, Venice, Campo de la Beccarie at the "Mercato del Pesce al Minuto" near Ponte Rialto. Seafood in great variety & of the highest quality of the particular menagerie of scaled, tentacled & hard-shelled sea creatures are on display at the market on five mornings a week. Freshest & finest quality is an obsession by the only less than 70,000 inhabitants of Venice.
The market is not huge, about thirty fishmongers & their assistants stand behind tables glistening with fish guts & brine beneath a canvas canopy supported by colonnades in the Venetian neo-Gothic style. The present construction dates only from the early 20th century, but seafood has been sold at the Rialto for at least 500 years. An inscription in ornamental metalwork over a nearby gate reads "Piscis premium a capite Foetet"- Fish starts rotting from the head", this old saying once had political as well as piscatorial character.
The assortment of seafood differs from season to season & even can varies from day to day. Unless the fish is identified as frozen, there is a bit of this, obviously dried or salted, you may be sure that everything sold here is as fresh as it can be.
Not everything in the market is fished in local waters, the fishing grounds of the northern Adriatic are closed annually for 40 days between July & September to allow stocks to regenerate, during that period everything comes from somewhere else, except for the fish, including the famous & delicate branzini, or sea bass, that are farmed in the area, but what does come from the lagoon usually sells for a premium a local seafood & is labelled "Nostrano", "ours," a standard term all over Italy.
The choice & freshness of the fish & seafood displayed on ice is hard to beat; comparable in central Europe I have only found in France & the Mediterranean region, even so we have a good fish market in Hamburg, but cannot be compared to this choice.
The lagoon city hides many picturesque places offside the tourist roads. If the buildings would be straight, painted & well maintained, I think Venice without this patina, the gondolas & gondolieri, channels, little bridges & the at all-time busy Canal Grande; all these main ingredients altogether express the romantic charm of Venice.
