Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Kayla in this classic themed pinup that harkens back to the simple pinup styles from the 1940s to the 1950s. Petty, Vargas, Morgan, Randall, etc were all pinup artists during the time period that pioneered the 'simple' pinup. Usually just a gal on a solid colored background (and often time just the color of the paper it was printed on). Their styles ranged from airbrushing, oil paints, and watercolors. Kayla is wearing a retro style two piece swimsuit.

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Kayla in this original 'nose art' from my own 1944 GPW Jeep known as 'Picture Perfect'! Modelled after an early 1944 pinup piece by J. George Janet found in the magazine 'Fun Frolic', in this variation I replaced the radio she's holding with an accurate Pre-Anniversary Speed Graphic (circa 1939) and lowered the red outfit to just high waisted bottoms. Kayla was kind enough to model this pose for me during our recently pinup shoot in early October 2021. This pinup will make it's way onto the windshield of my 1944 Jeep in the coming days!

Today's brand new Dietz Dolls pinup artwork is another tribute in the style of Bill Randall with ‘Lookie Louise’!
"Louise curled up for a lazy afternoon,
Lost in her LOOK in her quiet bedroom.
Sheets held their secrets with elegant care,
While she judged the girls with an envious glare."

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Kayla in this minimal classic pinup look. Going back to the roots of the 1940's style pinup, Kayla has found herself interrupted while getting dressed with a phone call. good thing her trusty 1944 Bell Telephone is always nearby!

I'm not sure why I waited so long to put this one up. It's really one of my best pinup shots ever. Gotta love that sailor theme.
Taken in-studio against a white backdrop. We were trying to imitate a sunny day, so the studio setup was a simple main + hair light with a fill reflector. The post production was more elaborate.
I had Kristina sitting on a stool holding a large cardboard tube. It really only extended to about 6 inches above her left hand. I had her scoot as far forward on the stool as possible and pretend the tube was a ship's mast. Then we hiked up her dress and I used a flex-arm-clip to hold up the hem like it was blowing in the wind.
Once I had done the usual touchups, I shopped in a photo I had taken back in '07 in the Florida Keys as the background. Then I extended the cardboard tube into a full mast and added the wood grain texture. It was still missing something, so as the final touch I added in those black rope-lines.

From todays photo extravaganza - Spring Break 2017 - a few of us manned a photo booth to help introduce other photographers to world of model photography. Here are 2 lovely pinup/vintage models posing for us.
The glow of a wonderful sunset provides an unbeatable backdrop for this vintage-inspired pin-up look. The classic Americana feel with of a bold red 1967 Mustang and classic swimwear create a powerful visual throwback to summer nights and freedom rides.
I exposed for the colors in the sky, then illuminated the model.

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Gelsey in this Coca Cola pinup! From the 1930s into the 1940s, Coca Cola pushed the 'Coca Cola Girl' into their advertising quite heavily. Often doing some everyday task from working in a factory, serving in the military, or even playing at the beach with the gals always taking a break from their current task to have a Coke (in order to 'Refresh' themselves before continuing on with that task). This retro advertisement is part of the ongoing Coca Cola original ad recreations. The colors, fonts, language, and graphics of these have been meticulously researched and recreated to match the original style of the advertisements.

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Brittnee inside an iconic WW2 classic... the Willys Jeep! "Hello? General? I suppose this chariot of green will do for my needs... but does it comes with diamonds?"
Answering a call from the US Army for automobile makers to replace the ageing WW1 vehicles in the face of the upcoming WW2 conflict, two different companies jumped into process. Only 11 days later, bids were received by Willys-Overland Motors, American Bantam, and eventually the Ford Motor Company. Bantam won the contract, but couldn't sustain production need for war and as such Willys and Ford were given the blueprints to develop and improve upon Bantam's design. Each company made their own version of the Bantam design in 1941 and began to produce their own models (Willys making the 'MA': 'M'ilitary model 'A' and Ford making the 'GP': 'G'eneral 'P'urpose). In mid-1941 the government decided to select one of the companies to produce their vehicle in order to standardize production. Willys won the contract after improving upon the earlier model and incorporating the best parts of the Bantam and Ford designs. The resulting vehicle was called the 'MB' (Military model B). When Willys couldn't keep up with the demand, Ford was asked to help produce the MBs which were then called GPW (General Purpose Willys). Willys produced over 360,000 MBs and ford produced over 280,000 GPWs.
