Another clematis growing against the wall of my house. It looks delicate and it's fragrant.

Pink perfection - pastel pals.

Out of all the azaleas growing in our yard this pink one is my favorite. I just love the blooms which are a but smaller and heartier looking than the ones with larger, frilly blooms.

I don't know the name of this variety but if I could I'd name it Pink Perfection.

I took this photo because this pink explosion was impossible to ignore. It's such a glorious cascade of flowers tumbling over itself in a riot of texture and tone. Against the crisp blue sky, it felt like nature was celebrating the season in a crescendo of colour, and who could blame it?

I wish I could upload the incredible fragrance of this rose with the pictures!

It's too bad the name Pink Perfection was already taken in the U.S. because it certainly is a fitting name for this classic beauty. As the blossoms mature they transforms into many different beautiful expressions of what it means to be a rose. The perfectly formed, high-centered blooms are an enchanting blend of pinks - lighter on the outside petals and dark, lipstick pink in the centers - and appear in flushes throughout the season.

But it is the fragrance that truly takes this rose 'over the top'. Notes of citrus, peach, pear and plum mingle with underlying base notes of patchouli and fresh myrtle to form a 'can't miss' perfume you'll long to inhale again and again.Every time I’m in the rose garden, it’s the first one I head for, to savour a long sniff - and am always happy to direct visitors to enjoy the incredible fragrance.

Healthy, dark green foliage with just a hint of sheen clothes the bushy, upright plants and offers good resistance to both blackspot and mildew. Winner of multiple gold and silver medals world-wide including the Golden Rose of The Hague in 2013. Zone 5 hardy. Flower Size: 4", Fragrance: Intense fruity, Hybridizer: Kordes, 2007.

When I was in Maine in June, I was delighted to see peonies blooming everywhere we went. I was very envious -- the only way they grow here in Northern California, I'm told, is if you put ice around them during the winter! I took lots of pictures and will have to settle fof them instead.

During our visit to the Bourn-Roth Estate - better known as Filoli - in the month of February just after a few months being closed during the winter, Melody captured this image of a Pink Perfection Camellia Japonica among the hundreds of camellias growing in the Filoli gardens. I think this our first visit to Filoli for 2013. Glad we visited after receiving notice that the camellias were in bloom. Melody had already upgraded her point and shoot Canon from the Powershot SX30 to SX50.
