Macro Mondays - "Pins"

pintail snipe - Gallinago stenura - Dẽ giun

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate pins at Macro Mondays.

Of course: safety pin is my choice for this theme. I can’t tell you how many times a tiny safety pin saved my life. And I’m not alone in this situation, just ask MacGyver (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacGyver), I’m sure this guy was saved more than once by a safety pin! So here we go: my picture shows my love and eternal gratitude for safety pins and their inventor !! Thank you so much tiny safety pin for helping me daily, keeping things together and not falling apart!

I’m officially on vacation, so I apologize for being on and off for the next few weeks (yes I have several weeks of vacation each year, isn’t that awesome?) and since my 2 sons are also on vacation my entire schedule is doomed … I will try to catch up as soon as possible my friends!!

Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day my friends!! See you later!!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr!!

Macro Mondays: Pins

In the 1960s you got a free pin when you bought a product. These pins are from C.Jamin

Cornelis Jamin was born in 1850 in Boxmeer. At the age of 20 he moved to Rotterdam, where he started a street trade in confectionery. Ambitious and headstrong as he was, he soon turned his street trade into an official confectionery with a sugar confectionery factory. After 10 years he had two sugar factories: one on the Roodezand and one on the Crooswijksekade. And another three years later, in 1883, the Netherlands had its first Jamin store, in which Cornelis sold his own products. He had a great business instinct and did good business.

Jamin's shops still exist

A distant flyby but another life tick...Extremadura, Spain

I went shopping yesterday for a new pair of trousers, but didn't find anything nice. So perhaps the sewing machine may have to come out again. These pins my come in handy. HMM:)

The most recent hobby that I started in 2022 is quilting. I quickly learned that "we quilters" like are gadgets and this is one that my daughter bought me from a small quilt shop. We like to support small businesses, now more so than ever since they continue to struggle and more and more are having to close their doors for good. I heard this morning that they have now come to the point where they must raise their prices to keep afloat due to the higher cost of staying in business, like heating, their cost of merchandise or ingredients to make products, etc.,

This is a new PIN holder. It is a tiny (1.5" tall, 2.5" wide) cup with an extremely strong magnet at the bottom. What makes this special is that you can drop the pins from 5-10" overhead and they land sticking straight up in the cup. So what, you say. Yes, I heard you! Well, when you go to retrieve a pin, all the pins are sticking straight up, if you turn the caddy over or if it gets bumped, the pins stay inside and do not spill out. It is difficult to explain why this works so well, so I think I shall stop before I bore you anymore. But the darn thing really works great.
