Here is a nose shot, you can just see the pilots as the plane passes by. This was taken at Shep's Mound, at Sydney Airport.

Pilot Cinema, Kings Lynn. Apparently soon to be demolished and replaced with a housing scheme, the Pilot Cinema operated as such between 1938-83. It had 800 seats more-or-less all on one level (stadium plan) - the rear section, designated the circle, was raised up and separated from the stalls but did not overhang at all. It had an attractive auditorium in the art deco style, which appears to have been totally destroyed since the cinema closed.

Demolition began a couple of weeks after these photos were taken.

This year's character is a pilot with his tiny flying machine that fits on a 8x8 base. If you scroll you can have a closer look to the minifigure and check that everything fits in a 8x8, just overhanging with the cape.

Pilot whale surfacing just under our boat - very exciting ! I can't find out what might be wrong with its dorsal fin - it looks rather like some sort of rot - hope I'm wrong. I read that pilot whales are actually a member of the dolphin family and the second largest of the group behind killer whales. They love to be alongside Tenerife at certain times of the year because of large numbers of squid.

One month later, Chase is riding in a hover copter.

Pilot: Are you sure you wish to keep going? We are about to enter the forbidden sector.

Chase: Yes, Keep going.

Pilot: Sure thing.

After a few minutes above the lost city the pilot keeps the hover copter stable despite the instruments going crazy.

Pilot: You'll have to jump out soon. *Opens the cargo door*

Chase: Thank you.

Pilot: Anything for a fellow Spec Ops, even if you are retired. I don't blame you; you've been through a lot.

Chase jumps out of the hover copter and catches onto a building with his right hand. The hover copter flies away. The wall falls and he lands on his back. He stands up looking around. Chase walks around for a bit and decides to climb up to a balcony. Sven looks at Chase.

Sven: Can I help you?

Chase: What happened here?

Sven: This used to be a safe haven. Until the warriors stopped coming around.

Chase: Damn. What no windows?

Sven: Yea I'm one of the very few who stand up to the gang. The windows were damaged from the gang violence. It's only an inconvenience in the winter.

Chase: *Looks at Svens chest tattoo* Rise, Rebel, Resist?

Sven: Rise up once you are knocked down. Rebel against the oppression. Resist the urge to become a cold-blooded killer. *Hears the gang attack one of the helpless villagers* Well it's been fun meeting you, but i got a job to do.

Sven jumps past Chase and starts to run towards the villager. Chase sighs and decides to follow Sven. Sven arrives seeing the gang and the leader, who is wielding Lyra's sword. The gang attacks Sven at once. By the time Chase arrives, Sven is on his back and about to be impaled by Lyra's Sword. Chase jumps up and punches the ground sending all 5 gang members into the air. 4 are killed when they land on sharp rocks and exposed metal. The leader limps away, leaving the sword on the ground. Chase extends his left arm out to help Sven up. Sven grabs Chase's hand with his right hand. His eyes turn to red, from green, as he is getting to his feet.

Sven: Thanks.

Chase: My name is Chase.

Sven: I'm Sven.

Chase: What was this about Warriors?

Sven: *points to the wall* That wall is a tower, that the Warriors stay at. They are the peacekeepers, or were, till they stopped coming around.

Popular with hikers and climbers, Pilot Rock stands out as one of the most striking features of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. The remnant of an ancient volcano, Pilot Rock is visible from much of the Shasta Valley in northern California and parts the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon. Over time, the exterior volcano eroded away, leaving behind the impressive columnar basalt of the ancient volcano's central vent. Fossil sites in the vicinity of Pilot Rock contain leaf impressions and conifer cones that became embedded in volcanic ash beds 25 to 35 million years ago.

The south face of Pilot Rock provides some of the best technical climbing opportunities in southwestern Oregon. Seven technical routes exist on Pilot Rock. To date, four of the routes have conservatively placed fixed anchors. To protect peregrine falcons and their nesting productivity at Pilot Rock, the south and east sides of Pilot Rock are subject to seasonal closures from February 1 to July 30 each year. These seasonal climbing restrictions may be lifted if the BLM determines that peregrine falcons are not nesting or confirms that their young have fledged and moved far enough away from the rock face to avoid disturbance by climbers.

Please note, new fixed anchors cannot be placed without prior BLM authorization.

Highway Pilot is a Abnormal Load Escort Service covering the UK founded in 2003.

The use of a Volvo V70 gives an initial impression of a Police car. Its also a fine car for sitting in for hours at a time.

Escort services need all the help they can get in commanding respect after wide load escorting was de-regulated - see some of the video clips on their Facebook page:

www.facebook.com/pages/Highway-Pilot/190708197731973

There is a Code of Practice for how an escort vehicle should be presented. This Highway Agency document "Code of Practice - Lighting and Marking for Abnormal Load Self escorting vehicles incorporating Operating guidance" will tell you:

Ford Australia Sold these V8 Pilot Sedans, but didnt sell too well, as it was one heavy Car and even with a V8, it wasnt a fast car, which was a shame, I think myself it was a good looking car.

Newspaper Advert.

Sold from 1947 to 1951 with a 3622cc sv V8, the Pilot was given a 4-door saloon body, although pickup and estate car versions were also made. The Ford Zephyr MkI replaced the Pilot adter 22,000 had been sold.

A pilot is a mariner who guides ships through dangerous or congested waters, such as harbours or river mouths. However, the pilot is only an advisor, as the master remains in legal, overriding command of the vessel.Pilotage is one of the oldest, least-known professions, and yet it is one of the most important in maritime safety. The economic and environmental risk from today's large cargo ships makes the role of the pilot essential.

Ticino makes an affordable homage of this design, similar to contemporary models made by IWC, Stowa, Laco, etc.
