A tranquil morning unfolds at the heart of Drents-Friese Wold, where the sky paints a breathtaking canvas of bleu, purples and yellows. The stillness of the water perfectly mirrors the row of trees, and a small island adorned with tall tufts of Common Rush adds to the enchantment of this scene
..until the chauffeur, composed and purposeful, made his departure. He took the narrow path up the gentle rise, passing beneath the arch of that distinguished structure with its venerable clock—hands wanting twenty minutes to two - leaving behind only the hush of old stone and a faint trace of his service.

Anyway, here's one to remind you that I still exist!

Marsh in Chalin Ravines (south side). Walking paths were marked by the Nature Education Center in Chalin and go across the areas closest to it. You can learn about the topographical profile, flora, and ecosystems of the local lakes. Arrows placed on trees show the directions; you can walk on your own. The marsh is close proximity to a stream beginning. This is a watercourse with several lakes: Bielina Stream catchment area. Its three lakes (Chalinek, Lawickie, and Janukowo) are situated in Sierakow Commune.
“You look like Angelina Jolie” – I said jokingly just a minute into our chat—some playful remarks, a bit of fun, passion, excitement, and the promise of an adventure – that makes up for the next episode of this series. I remember when I embarked on my own journey – my very first encounter with a stranger who happened to be a fashion model. It was a serendipitous introduction by a friend who, coincidentally, was there on assignment as a photographer. That rendezvous feels like a distant memory now, almost a decade ago.
In the years that followed, I crossed paths with countless individuals, some dreaming of modeling, others showing extraordinary potential for the industry. Then there was this one person I met over a year ago, a fashion school alumna. Surprisingly, despite her training, she never took the plunge. So you can imagine my delight today, stumbling upon someone brimming with both passion and determination, finally ready to seize the opportunity.
Just a few days ago, as she was wandering through the city streets, when fate intervened, caught the eye of a business promoter who offered her a modeling gig for a clothing brand. She dives in headfirst, and to her surprise, discovers a newfound confidence in front of the camera. It's like she's found her calling. And here's the kicker—she's an electrician by trade, proof that passion knows no bounds and when that fiery passion ignites within, it's a sign to follow wherever it leads.

Unique Mirabelle Plum Tree (Prunus domestica, subspecies syriaca in the Rosaceae family; sliwa domowa, mirabelka in Polish). It originates from a wild fruit grown in Anatolia. The Latin term “mirabilis” means “of wondrous beauty”, like the sun in July. In the springtime, Mirabelle trees bloom snow-white and blossom here at the beginning of April. They are prized trees because of their beautiful, orb-like fruits (yellow, orange, and red varieties). The major cultivar is the Mirabelle de Lorraine (orchards in Metz and Nancy considered). In Poland, mirabelles grow both wild and cultivated, often at roadsides and backyards.
I recently spent an evening in Cabangan, Zambales, right in front of the West Philippine Sea. I watched the sunset paint the sky with dark and light blues, and a striking band of golden-yellow light lit up the horizon. A light drizzle fell gently, cooling the last warmth of the day and making the colors pop even more. With just a few people around, the empty shoreline and the soft, soothing sound of gentle waves made the scene feel truly personal. I paused and simply enjoyed that peaceful, rain-kissed moment.
Yanaka Ginza, located in the historical Yanaka district of Tokyo, is a charming shopping street that transports visitors back in time. This image captures the essence of Yanaka Ginza, with its traditional Japanese shops, narrow streets, and a picturesque view of Tokyo Skytree in the distance. The street is lined with old-fashioned storefronts, each with its own unique character and charm, reflecting a bygone era of Tokyo's rich cultural history.
Yanaka Ginza's history dates back to the Edo period, and it has managed to preserve its traditional atmosphere despite the rapid modernization of the city. The area is known for its "shitamachi" or "downtown" vibe, which is characterized by its laid-back, nostalgic ambiance. Walking down Yanaka Ginza, one can find a variety of shops selling traditional Japanese goods, local snacks, and handmade crafts. The presence of bicycles parked along the sidewalks and colorful banners in Japanese further enhances the cultural experience.
Architecturally, Yanaka Ginza offers a blend of old and new. The traditional wooden buildings with their distinct tiled roofs and intricate facades stand as a testament to Tokyo's architectural heritage. Amidst these historical structures, you can also spot modern elements that seamlessly integrate into the street's aesthetic, creating a harmonious balance between past and present. The iconic Tokyo Skytree in the background adds a modern touch to the otherwise traditional landscape, symbolizing the fusion of Tokyo's rich history and contemporary development.
Exploring Yanaka Ginza is like taking a step back in time while still being connected to the present. The street's unique charm, combined with its historical significance and architectural beauty, makes it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience a different side of Tokyo. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply someone who enjoys discovering hidden gems, Yanaka Ginza offers an unforgettable glimpse into Japan's cultural heritage.
Camping on Lake Godziszewo/Reconciliation Place (7.5 ha). The lake is sometimes called Godziszewskie, Lesioneckie, or Lesionki and has 18.88 ha according to the list of lakes (Names of Places and Physiographic Objects Commission). Water table surface is 7.5 ha at present. Probably, an area more than twice involves the adjoining marshy lands. The lake is situated on the border of the Kaczlin village and Lesionki hamlet to the north (Kaczlin Administrative Country District) and borders upon the village Lutom grounds. There are: forest bivouac place, fishing grounds, and unguarded beach in here on the black walking trail leading from Sierakow to the forest Diabolic Stone near Lutom.
French Mountains (Sierakow Forest District). In 1807 Napoleon troops on the move from Drezdenko to Sierakow could not pass through the massive dunes with their cannons. The wheels of heavy artillery sank in the sand. In this connection, the locals had to do the pits and put balks on a dune path. Since that time, the surrounding hills are known as the French Mountains. The information stands on the Lichwin forest road are seen in the picture. The path led me to the Napoleonic Track near the Springs.
Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (built between 1624-1639). The high altar main painting is accompanied with the gold-colored figures of St. Peter and St. Paul. Since the Renaissance the Sierakow Pantheon serves as a tomb. The parish church is surrounded with a row of limes (including the centuries-old linden tree in the background), the former church meadow and pond, and a public park in the place of a destroyed historic Bernardine farm and former ‘cementery for poor men outside the city’ with the existing hospice Holy Spirit Church (finally transported by Count Bninski to Wartoslaw).
The Apple Tree on the Zagonowa Street in Poznan (Stare Winogrady Housing Estate). White Transparent was found in the Wagner nursery in Riga around 1850 (widely grown during the 19th century in Europe, introduced to France in 1852, and to North America in 1870).
Concrete Fire Lookout Tower in the Notecka Forest (Dostrzegalnia ppoz. at an elevation of 89 meters above sea level). A forest viewpoint in French Mountains stands on the highest dune hill in Sierakow Commune. There are teaching points and an attractive picnic place on which the wooden forest look-out stood in the past. The fire-control observation point ‘Springs / Zdroje’ equipped with a telescope is 32 m tall and the platform for tourists located at 25 meters. One stopping place is well located on the nearby Napoleonic Track, the Lichwin-Blota red biking trail.
French Mountains’ Ridge (massive dunes). The French Mountains’ precincts in Sierakow Commune are covered with a uniform pine forest. The red biking trail on my left (running parallel to the ridge) from Lichwin to Mud (Blota) by Plawiska is suitable for leisurely cycling. From here I got finally to the springs in Forest Stream Valley (Napoleonic Track) following the mountain range and coppices near a forest observation tower. It was too cloudy for visiting the Tower ‘Springs’ during that day.
Nestled in the heart of Osaka, Japan, the iconic Osaka Castle stands as a testament to the region's rich historical tapestry and architectural brilliance. Originally constructed in 1583 by the formidable warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Osaka Castle played a pivotal role during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, serving as a strategic military stronghold. The castle's architecture is an exquisite blend of traditional Japanese design and robust fortifications. The main tower, standing at an impressive 55 meters, is adorned with intricate golden decorations and features a distinctive green-tiled roof, a striking contrast to the pristine white walls. These walls, punctuated by small windows, not only add to the castle's aesthetic appeal but also served defensive purposes during times of conflict.
Surrounding the castle, the lush grounds are equally captivating, featuring meticulously maintained gardens and moats that once provided protection. The Nishinomaru Garden, with its 600 cherry trees, offers a particularly picturesque view during the cherry blossom season, drawing visitors from around the globe. Inside, Osaka Castle houses a museum that chronicles its storied past, showcasing a fascinating array of artifacts, dioramas, and historical documents. Each floor offers a unique glimpse into the castle's history and the era it represents, culminating in a panoramic view of Osaka from the top floor—a reward for those who climb the steep stairs.
Osaka Castle is not just a historical monument; it is a symbol of resilience and cultural heritage. Its restoration in the 20th century, following damage during various conflicts, stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Japanese people. Whether you are a history enthusiast, an architecture aficionado, or a casual traveler, Osaka Castle offers a profound and enriching experience, encapsulating the essence of Japan's architectural and cultural evolution.

Victoria Crowned Pigeons at Poznan Zoological Gardens (Goura Victoria; Koroniec plamoczuby, native to the New Guinea region, flying when necessary). They are the largest pigeon species in the world (bluish-grey with elegant blue lace-like crests, maroon breast, and red eyes). The birds may be easily recognized by the unique white tips on their crests and by their characteristic sounds made while calling.
Heavenly Beautiful Meadowland with Marguerites (Leucanthemum vulgare; ox-eye daisy, oxeye daisy, dog daisy; margerytka, margarytka, margaretka, rumianek ogrodowy, jastrun wlasciwy, zlocien wlasciwy, jastrun wczesny, margerytka Chrysanthemum leucanthemum L.) on Lake Klosowskie in the Chorzepowo Administrative Country District. Properties of the herbal plant: antispasmodic, antitussive, diaphoretic, diuretic, emmenagogue, tonic, and vulnerary.
The Highest Dune Hill (89 m a.s.l.). This is a view over the highest elevation in Sierakow Commune and the fire-control observation point ‘Springs / Zdroje’ from the red biking trail area (Lichwin-Blota stretch near the Napoleonic Track in French Mountains - Notecka Forest Massive Dunes). The name ‘French’ derives from Napoleonic Wars and is connected with the heavy artillery movement in the year 1807. The locals had to reinforce a dune path with balks to facilitate the French cannons transporting.
Aquatic Plants on Lake Gleboczek/Eye Depth (near Grobia, a view from the south). A small glacial lake (4.65-5.24 ha, 45.4 m a.s.l.) is located on the border of Sprzeczno Hamlet, near both the villages Grobia and Lutomek (Beech Wildlife Reserve, Beech Grove south entrance, its immediate environs). One of the smallest moraine lakes in the Lake District is owned by the Forest Inspectorate. The red walking trail runs near the unguarded forest beach (picnic place) through Sprzeczno Hamlet to the Top of Stones in Grobia-Sprzeczno. The south-east side of the lake is the site of a swamp with a tributary stream from Sosnia.
