Thank you for visiting!
In this wooded area on may 10, 1940, fourteen Dutch soldiers and two Germans were killed, when German paratroopers attacked Amstelwijck estate plus the old Amstelwijck mansion, which was then a Dutch infantry command post.
Amstelwijck is located in the Dutch city Dordrecht, near Rotterdam.
Today when entering the estate it is if nothing has changed since then. All the bunkers and buildings are still there. There is a distinct feeling of doom and gloom.
The battles on the island of Dordrecht would escalate quickly. In four days of battle 209 Dutch soldiers were killed and 122 Germans.

I edited this shot in Nikon NX Studio, which is a free download, instead of Capture One which I typically use.
I applied a downloaded custom Picture Control called "Tri-X B&W" as a starting point. I can't say whether it really resembles Tri-X film, not having checked... I just liked the look.
There are numerous custom picture controls (also free) available at nikonpc.com/. These can be installed and used in camera, or during post processing in Nikon NX Studio.
Thanks for visiting!

I am[laying with something new in Nikon’s Studio NX, Flexible color picture control (FCPC). SO we are clear if you are a Nikon shooter and you are not processing your raw files in NX Studio you are truly doing your images a disservice. !00% of all of my images are converted from the .NEF file format to tiTiff in Nikon software since the inception of Nikon Capture. That is going all the way back to the first Nikon DSLR the D1.
I am working on creating FCPC settings that replicate great BW films from back in the day. This image was post processed with control points and an FCPC that I created to emulate 125iso film made by a USA film manufacturer.
I shot this with my new Nikon Z6III and the 50mm f 1.2 S Nikkor lens. I used a 10 stop B+W ND filter. Image raw processed in NX Studio.

Well... In case you missed it, Nikon introduced the D850! I was lucky enough to get to make some images from it recently.
This one was made during a company dinner cruise. After dinner I noticed that the moon was setting and that the boat was moving around Lady Liberty in a way that the moon would line up nicely with our gift from France.
JPG was recorded because the NEF processor won't be released until the camera ships in a few weeks.
I'll be posting additional images... nothing full res... over the next little bit. I am eager to get a full time sample and really put some images through this amazing new toy!!

The former Main Post Office was designed by the architect J. Crouwel Jr. in the style of the Amsterdam School. Construction started in 1919 and was completed in 1924. The hall of the building is impressive because of the high parabolic arches.
There are six bluestone statues in the hall. Five of these human figures represent the different parts of the world and they are accompanied by a corresponding animal, a sixth image is about trade and prosperity. The statues and ornaments are by Hendrik van den Eijnde. The two lions on the outside in front of the entrance are also his work. These were installed later and were initially not part of the design, but were made at the request of the people of Utrecht. The large clock in the hall was made by De Porceleyne Fles. The stained glass above the entrance is by Richard Roland Holst and represents the "Dutch Virgin in the garden of the provinces".
We have had a lot of fun and a good lunch with the Flickrbende. And some photography of course.

Ancaman Meninggalkan Solat Jumaat

The end of the fisherman’s day at Pyramid Lake Northern Nevada. (Nikon Z9, 70-200mm 2.8 S, set as NX)
This was a test day AGAIN for the Nikon Z9.
We drove out to Pyramid Lake and tested with two lenses at different settings.
This was after deep investigation around what was causing major focus issues etc.
I have NEVER used Nikon support in my 40+ years behind the lens.
Now I understand that was the right choice!
I could go on but why frustrate myself any further.
Bottom-line, Picture control as delivered on my Z9 was set to:
Sharpening:+3.00
Mid-Range Sharpening:+2.00
Clarity:+1.00
I have owned pairs of the Z7, Z7ii and now the Z9.
The previous Zs the settings were at zero.
Thus, I did not experience the issues I have incurred with the Z9.
Living in the past I assumed that Picture Control only applied to JPEG files.
That is no longer true with the Z series.
With no mention of this in the manual it made debugging difficult.
Now with the settings zeroed out I’m back, well almost.
Though adjustments can be made in post processing consider the impact of time spent and features requiring banks given you like me zero out the picture control settings.
Let’s Go Nikon! (Sarcastic reference, all apologies…).
Keep the passion, Steve
" X - FILES " !

One real creature one mythical.
Nearly three quarters of robins in Britain die before they are one year old, either caught by predators or unable to fend for themselves. Ten per cent of older robins die defending their territory.
Second three, some steps, they always used to be white edges now they are all yellow and I don't know when that changed.
