"Nul besoin de multiples détails pour faire passer l'émotion: une superbe réalisation qui répond bien à la définition de la photo minimaliste, dire plus en montrant moins. Les traces qui serpentent nous invitent à sortir du cadre pour une belle balade, superbe image !" (René CARRERE / www.flickr.com/photos/143018951@N07/)

Nature's simplicity at its most elegant: one tree standing tall.
Point: a tree
Line: a wire fence
Areas: sky, near ground and hints of distant hillside.

The endless Andaman blue sea at Patong Beach is something else — that shimmering turquoise water stretching to the horizon, soft waves lapping the shore, and the sky melting into the sea in the distance. It’s one of those spots that feels like time slows down
Toujours compliqué de faire une photo différente de ce que l’on peut voir sur flickr. Pour ma part c’est une recherche constante. J’aime beaucoup cette photo minimaliste et complexe à la fois. Quel est votre avis?
All the Hereios at We’re Here! are wishing a hearty “Happy Birthday!” to Ruth Raymond, also known as ruthlesscrab. And what better way than to steal one of her photo ideas, make a copycat, and post it to Ruthless Copycats!
My pick to copy took me a bit beyond my technical skills – but then I’m hoping Ruth will make allowances, because it’s the thought that counts. Right? The original photo from Ruth’s photostream is in the 1st comment box below.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH!!!

Isolating a narrow section of pond reeds (grasses) in a slightly diagonal line. The post-sunset hues of pink and orange were subtle, yet stunning. The best images I made that evening in fact. I'm glad that I continued to shoot well past the sunset - which was mostly cloudless. This artwork is titled "Zen State Of Mind" on my website.
The image was captured in Maine, on a small pond in Acadia National Park.

It's something about timing. In recent weeks, every time I've spotted CN A408, it's been ready to depart Champaign just before 8am. Lately, I've found little time to railfan, but recently I got out of the house and, to my surprise, ran into the A408 ready to leave with a pair of deathstars on the head! To think I expected to see nothing. The weathers timing was even nice, as despite the heat, the recent haze was absent from the sky and fields alike. Writing this now as haze fills the streets and farm fields like fog, I'm always impressed with how quickly nature can change things.
With a shot in mind farther down the road, I figured I might as well stick with the classic - the slight curve near the Illinois Terminal station in downtown Champaign. Curvature on the IC main is rarity in general, so it's always nice to capture it.
A408, led by IC1005 and IC1022, began its trip south out of Champaign shortly after A497 did, then it was off to the races once again! After a few weeks of frustration with photos - minimal catches, shots and trips that haven't worked out, it was a relief to have a good day of shooting.

I was up at 5:30am today to drive to Malvern Hills for sunrise for a run. I took my little GoPro style Yi4K+ action camera with me and this was one of my favourite quick photos I took.
Running is inspiring me to get out and about and see more of the world so my future work shared may include some more landscapes / non-people photos
Minimal editing, colour/ vignetting etc as shot

The planets are aligned but all I could get was the moon and Mars since my lens isn't wide enough. They could all be seen though... It was pretty cool!
Caitlin Woolsey takes in the view on Kruzoff Island. After a long morning of hiking through the muskeg, we climbed to the top of a ridge adjacent to Mount Edgecumbe. The mountains in this picture are on Baranof Island, on the other side of Sitka Sound from where this photo was taken. In an unusual streak of beautiful weather, we were able to enjoy panoramic views of Mount Edgecumb, Kruzoff Island, and the peaks of Baranof Island. To take this shot, I got low to the ground. This, combined with the shallow depth of field of the 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens that I was using resulted in the blurry foreground. My focus point was set on Caitlin, the main subject of the photo. Minimal editing was required beyond brightness and contrast.
